Is he mad?
I've never done that and don't recall having an issue with badly burning candles. But he's decided it's essential.

I always used to do this with the wide candles. If they are wide pillar candles he is right IME
And I am mad

Oh er! I suppose he could be right. Sometimes they spit a bit when there's a lot of melted wax in it. Not essential though. I think he just likes fiddling with hot wax and fire!

Well I can inform you otherwise

I attended a partylite party last weekend (snort) and if you ensure that the wick is the right size, you should leave the wax as it goes back to wax obviously.
You can also push the candle back in if you find your getting a bit of a polo effect.

I would agree with the more expensive candel, but your bog standard pillar candle ahs a way of burning so there is bugger all left of the wick.

Either you or I need to get out more NBG

Oooh, get you! A partylite party. You know how to live don't you! I went to a Virgin Vie party and learnt how to put my makeup on last night!

winestein · 18/11/2007 21:26

candel is obviously the posh pronunciation of candle, just so you know...

PeachesMcLean · 18/11/2007 21:31

Aaah, sadly not conclusive enough for me to have a go at him Will not hassle him in future.

Oh yes.
I go to all the best parties

Still managed to spend £30 though and I have to somehow find a way to explain to dh where the iron scroll tealight/sconce holder has come from, lol.
