OP posts:

Method peach scented washing up liquid, smells gorgeous but doesn't foam up to create suds.

SuziQuatrosFatNan · 22/05/2021 21:18

Any washing up liquid apart from fairy original is shit ime.

Cillit bang is rubbish! Bang! And the dirt is ... sort of smeared around the surface with a nasty sheen to it.

Anything from Sainsbury's fruit aisle that says 'ripe and ready' I have avocado bought reduced on 20th, two days later I try one and it's still so bloody hard I can barely get a knife in it. I am taking them both back tomorrow as I am sick and bloody tired of paying for this kind of crap.

ab21 · 23/05/2021 07:29

I’m glad it’s not just me that has no bloody idea how to use it! I tried just squirting it on and dry mopping but with no noticeable difference in cleanliness. I tried it with a wrung-out damp mop, but it then seemed too diluted to do anything. I have a steam cleaner now and 2 half-used bottles gathering dust in the back of the cupboard!

That's a relief as I thought I was being monumentally stupid! I confess that I only used it as my cleaner was ill and I was too embarrassed to text her to ask how she used it. I also tried dry mopping which did a slightly crusty dispersion of the liquid but fell far short of anything I'd describe as actually cleaning the floor. She uses a hot damp mop but it still didn't do a lot. My efforts to squirt it around seemed to involve getting my feet wet and my cabinets splashed. Not a success.

But Method wood cleaner....marzipan heaven. It's like wiping your table with a piece of Christmas cake.

EversoDelighted · 23/05/2021 07:35

Method rhubarb kitchen spray, absolutely stinks. So do their laundry detergents.

Are you all talking about the Method Almond floor cleaner in the bottle with the pop up top? I use it in a Vileda spray mop, does a great job and smells gorgeous.

Barkeepers friend does a good job but I agree the smell is unpleasant.

EventOfTheSeason · 23/05/2021 07:40

Asda own brand cream cleaner was rubbish and
kind of slimy.

Prunekeith · 23/05/2021 07:51

Add Waitrose “Ripe and Ready” Avocados to the “Bullet Proof and Likely to Break Your Jaw” list.

The baby ones seem fine though.

rosesarered321 · 23/05/2021 08:16

Ecover toilet cleaner, was using it once a week with a good scrub with a brush and my loo after a month, started to get stained areas. Went straight back to my weekly bleach and a good brush problem gone!

Finish, sainsburys and tesco dishwasher tabs useless compared to fairy platinum.

Talipesmum · 23/05/2021 08:22

Ecover washing up liquid usually comes near the bottom in Which tests. But we still use it because it is much kinder on our hands than fairy platinum etc. We have a water softener and I think it helps the ecover along a bit.

I love the smell of the Method rhubarb spray!
Wafflehouse · 23/05/2021 09:44

I love the Method floor cleaner, I find a bottle lasts me ages. I don’t use a mop though, I squirt it on the floor and dunk a cloth in hot water to wipe over it and then dry it off with another cloth. I have carpets in most rooms though so it only gets used in the bathroom, kitchen and tiny porch.

Vicliz24 · 23/05/2021 16:28

I
Love the Method Almond floor cleaner too . I squirt it on and use a wet cloth to wipe it around . It smells amazing and leaves my floorboards clean with a slight gloss .

goingtotown · 23/05/2021 19:23

Pink Stuff multi purpose spray cleaner & the cream cleaner are useless.

Nuggetnugget · 23/05/2021 19:26

Those oven kits - most of them are a waste of money (except oven pride)

Purpletomato · 23/05/2021 19:31

@Hardertobreathe

Do not buy ‘new improved scent ‘ fairy liquid.
Agree with this
Terriblecreature · 23/05/2021 19:33

Any toilet cleaner, much prefer spray cif so there is no funky colour residue.

The pink stuff cream cleaner was absolute baws for trying to polish up handles of mine.

Also any laundry liquid tabs at the minute every brand, the capsule isn't bursting properly and it smeared on my clothes when I take them out the machine. I have went back to liquid instead.

I bloody love zoflora too surprised at people not liking it. Ok the winter I love the spiced cinnamon one, makes the house smell amazing

QueenPaw · 24/05/2021 08:45

@Terriblecreature the one thing I did like the pink stuff cream cleaner for is shower doors! I put it on while I was in the shower and rinsed it off and they looked lovely

savanahnana · 26/05/2021 12:33

Smol washing tablets never seem to make my washing look clean or even smell fresh.

Also agree about Barkeepers friend. Awful smelling, wondered for ages why my kitchen smelt like poo until I realised it was the sink cleaner!

Ecover multi cleaner, the ginger one. Love the smell but I feel it just doesn't really do anything.

Marjoriesdoor · 26/05/2021 14:24

The Pink Stuff. Meh. Also, the Pink Stuff cream cleaner is one of the worst things I have ever used. Loads of residue, smells weird, doesn't clean nearly as well as Cif cream.

PurpleWh1teGreen · 26/05/2021 14:32

@BirdyBee

Ecoegg washing egg, was rubbish no fragrance at all and rubbish at removing even the slightest stain person i gave the kit too also gave it away!
Yup me too. Absolutely useless.
octopuseyes · 29/11/2021 20:37

‘Don’t understand the hipe’ products….
For me, it’s zoflora. All smell very ‘chemically’ 😕
Also, any shower gel. Bar of soap waaay better 👍😃

Ragwort · 29/11/2021 20:43

I agree Smol was a waste of time and money, a friend recommended it got an offer I liked the convenience of postal deliveries but the product was useless.

0blio · 29/11/2021 20:45

@SpnBaby1967

Zoflora, perfect if you want your house to have a vaguely floral chemical smell.
Yes, why have they changed it? It used to be nicely scented (I especially liked sweet pea) but now every fragrance is heavy and cloying.
DobbyTheHouseElk · 29/11/2021 20:46

I love method rhubarb cleaner. Much nicer than the lavender one I’ve got on the go.
