cleaning wood floors

Hi All,

Recently moved into new house, Victorian, in the process of making it our own... slowly... It has downstairs wood floors and will have them throughout (except for kitchen and bathroom, which are tiled) when we're finished the original wood floors waxed maybe.. what is the thing where they are light coloured and don't look like they have much of anything on them...

My question is what do I buy to clean them? I can hoover on occassion but what about just sweeping, and what about cleaning? Will the Vileda microfibre mop with the built in spray thing work? And will I need different spray for wood and then tiles?

I'm a bit confused about what I need and can't find any information online that answers my question.

Any advice welcome!!

Another vote for the Method almond wood floor cleaner. I use that on my wood floors and flash floor cleaner on tiles.
I sweep the wood floors daily and mop them a couple of times a week.

Thanks all. I've seen the method cleaner but was worried if it was okay with all types of finish on wood..?

Also, what are you cleaning with? What kind of mop? What kind of sweeping brush? Different for all cleaning liquids? Different for wood and tile?

We have original floorboards in our house similar age to yours, ours are coated in osmo polyx oil which doesn't have the shine of varnish, I use method almond floor cleaner smells lovely and doesn't seem to damage the floor , I use a different cleaner on the kitchen and bathroom tiles I have two refillable mop things one for each

Method for wooden floors is great. Hoover first then use the method cleaner. I squeeze some onto the floor then mop it with just water. Smells amazing
