Mumsnet classic roast chicken question, urgent!

I cooked a roast chicken last night (you know, to feed the family for the next fortnight) and let it cool on the side overnight.

I've just carved off the lovely, juicy (fully cooked) breasts and then hit blood when I cut into the leg. Aaaagh.

Can I chop it up and whack the raw bits back in the oven for 20m?

Get turkey twizzlers next time OP. Much less hassle.

In my brain, it's risky to put warm food in the fridge...?

The risk here is that if the fridge is small and the there's a large quantity of hot food put there, this will warm up other food. To avoid this, turn your fridge temperature down, if you want to put something warm there. Or yes, cool it down outdoors first, if it's cold where you live. Definitely not fine to leave cooked chicken out in the warm kitchen overnight.

Looking at the time you posted this you got up early so if you didn’t take it out of the oven until after midnight and boy it’s been cold I think it should be okay. Oven on really hot for awhile. Any doubts curry the legs as suggested. I wouldn’t bother writing your will just sing We will Survive.

Bloody and undercooked chicken left out of the fridge overnight then reheated. What could possibly go wrong?
