Getting rid of the smell of sick!!

Sorry for yucky thread, but does anyone have any handy tips for getting rid of the small of sick from carpet?! Poor dd1 had a bug last w/e and I can't get rid of the faint but lingering smell in her room!

sprinkle with bicarb, leave it overnight and hoover up
