Anyone using Freddie's Flowers or similar?

Just curious.
I'm actually rebuilding my life after domestic abuse and a mental breakdown. Trying to introduce totally new positive things into my life as I continue to heal.

I decided to try out Freddies Flowers. Really boosted my mood and the flowers were gorgeous. Deciding whether to continue with maybe a fortnightly or monthly subscription or experiment with any of the other flower subscription companies.
What have your experiences been with flower subscriptions, if any?

We have Freddie's Flowers to cheer us up during lockdown. Started weekly but they are so good and last so long we have now gone to fortnightly since it was getting to be too much of a good thing and we have limited vases! Love them

I've used Bloom and Wild monthly subscriptions as gifts before - they have always been received with delight.

If anyone wants a totally free bunch of flowers from Freddies you can use this link: www.freddiesflowers.com/r/AnitaW9652

If you accept the free flowers Freddies will then apparently give me 50% off a bunch of flowers myself

I had the offer from Freddies flowers for 2 bunches for £12,50
To be honest I didn't think they were worth that price, certainly would not pay £25 for them!

Madcats · 27/11/2020 22:00

I signed up in April (or close enough) inspired by Facebook. It was my "lockdown treat". There is an "Iris-free" version for cat owners.

I have probably had 10 bunches, 2 of which they have sent again. One because they didn't send me a cat-friendly bunch and another because a couple of the stems were really underwhelming.

The flowers do last days longer than any bouquets I have had for births/deaths/marriage from local florists but they do take a few days to perk up.

13luckyblackcats · 28/11/2020 17:13

Had some from Bloom and Wild for my birthday that lasted over two weeks! The stocks looked awful at first but really perked up overnight.

I think you should try ordering from a local independent florist, as they're all struggling at the moment. You may find they can do you a better deal.

Cakes4Teatime · 28/11/2020 20:48

Madcats Which company are you using for the option that is free from lilies please? There seems to be a run of lilies in Freddie’s Flowers and I can’t see a cat safe alternative option on their site.

Madcats · 28/11/2020 21:13

@cakes4Teatime well this in interesting (as I've not been on their website for a while, except to book/cancel orders on the calendar ). When I signed up 7 months ago there was a FAQ whereby you could email to have your account marked up to say you didn't want Lilies if you emailed. Now it is:

"Whilst we are able to offer a lily-free arrangements, unfortunately at the moment we aren't able to guarantee that every one of our arrangements will be pet safe."

We can send you an email each week highlighting which flowers are in the box the following week – just skip an upcoming delivery if there is anything you’re worried about.

A few months back, they used to email about the delivery and say "if you have asked, you will get roses (or another flower...whose name I can't remember) instead".

TBF, they do correct things when they mess up but I don't want to look out for weekly emails to see whether they are hoping to poison our cats.

Apologies for the poor editing

I have a fortnightly Bloomon subscription which has been really great. The flowers last a fortnight and some often more. They do have lilies but not many and I usually cut the stamens (?) out

Pineapplemonkey · 28/11/2020 22:18

I use Arena flowers, I cannot fault them in any way. I looked at Freddie’s (and others) and compared with Arena, they just didn’t look as special. You can choose the frequency and change it whenever you want. Most deliveries have been enough for 3 large vases.

Trying2Heal · 28/11/2020 23:03

@TigerDroveAgain I've not heard of Bloomon. Will look them up!

I've just stopped Freddie's and moved to use a local florist. I thought FF were very good but they stopped using DPD and were doing their own deliveries so changed my delivery day, the last delivery seemed poor for the money (although it did actually improve as they blossomed) and I'd rather support local. I'd go back though.

Trying2Heal · 03/12/2020 13:48

Here’s this week’s ridiculously lush Freddies Flowers delivery. If anyone wants a totally free bunch of flowers from Freddies you can use this link:

If you accept the free flowers Freddies will then apparently give me 50% off a bunch of flowers myself. You get a huge bunch of free flowers and are under no obligation to them beyond accepting the freebie

Since lockdown I've used Freddie's Flowers and M&S and Waitrose. I've stopped using any other than Freddie's Flowers right now because I like the surprise of what comes through the door. Also because it's simple to cancel one week. Recently I've arranged the flowers late in the day but they've all lasted two weeks at least.

However, I'll keep reviewing.

Orangecake123 · 04/12/2020 17:11

I use Bloom & wild.

If you use my code you get £10 off your first order and I get £10 off my next.

refer.bloomandwild.com/m/ol/tg9tx-sophy-rafiq

To be honest though I also had an account with Freddies and my mother loved the flowers more, but even if you sign up for the email newsletter with Bloom and Wild you're always usually sent 10% -15% off codes plus another £5 off another bunch if you order two deliveries in one go. If you also send a lot of deliveries they will also send you an invite for 20% of certain bunches when they've over ordered and got leftover stock. So I rarely pay full price and it works out a bit cheaper .

teacherlife · 14/01/2021 11:26

my code is AliceF9819 if anyone would like a free box of flowers :)

287xx · 14/01/2021 11:35

We have Freddie’s and I usually have one bunch a month from them, I check in advance what will be in the bunch and base it on that as I don’t like lilies really. I think the flowers are always really good quality and last really well, normally about 2 weeks. I’ve found the same with Bloom and Wild flowers, they all need some time in water to perk up but then they last ages.

I’d love to use a local florist as I always want to support smaller businesses but over lockdown I’ve been lucky to receive some bouquets via local florists and I get about a maximum of 3/4 days out of the flowers before they go over.

pitterpatterrain · 14/01/2021 21:27

We use Freddie’s and have had them more frequently during lockdown

I like the look of Arena flowers thanks for sharing

GingerNorthernLass · 16/01/2021 19:28

Is this an advert for Freddie's Flowers?!

Sunplanetearth8 · 16/01/2021 19:44

I use Freddie’s flowers! Twice monthly for maybe 3 months now. It’s such a treat! I will keep it up until the end of lockdown for sure.

I would definitely prefer to support local florists, but - in truth - I don’t think I would do it as often as weirdly it feels like a guilty indulgence to buy them in person and not in the post Blush
