Would anyone like to join me today in sorting out the avalanche cupboard? Tupperware.

I’m debating moving it to a drawer instead. It’s all jumbled up with baking things that I don’t use often but just often enough that I can’t put them in the loft.
I’m going to have a toddler helping too.
There’s a wonderful Pinterest pegboard video, but I don’t know if I can be bothered, might rig something similar with plate racks.

This, this is why I'm on Mumsnet not the cf threads, not the parking threads - this. Thank you for the inspiration ladies I have now moved all Tupperware from the death cupboard as we have affectionately called it to a drawer - life changing Grin.

Lol @mommybear1. Come for the parking threads, stay for the Tupperware. MN has changed my life in many small ways :)

@Jackparlabane

If I rule the world, I'm making it law that only one design of plastic takeaway box is allowed and all lids have to be interchangeable...

Actually, I may just ban all plastic boxes other than genuine Tupperware - my mum has some that's still going strong from the late 1950s. Unlike bloody Loctite boxes which last about a year before warping irredeemably or their clips snapping offf.

I met some guys trying to sell Tupperware in the UK years ago and thought their prices were unreasonable, back pre-kids. I should have bought a pile...

Need to sort my corner cupboard, not because the boxes at the front have bred and mutated so much, but I can't find my lidded dish for braising meat. I've looked everywhere else.

I like your thinking. I’ve often thought that tuppawear (other plastic lidded containers are available) should be colour co-ordinated..... eg x large box red lid red box, large box blue with blue lid, medium yellow box yellow lid etc etc etc.

I also think colouring pens should have transparent lids, who’s got time to try and match them up?! They have a coloured ring at the end anyway

You know you have a plastic tub issue when you can look at the pics and know certain tubs came for ikea, home bargains etc etc Grin

Did my avalanche cupboard too. Everything went except the Lakeland stackable boxes, which I have in each size.

Ohhhhhh, the relief!

Flagsandcastles · 07/11/2020 16:09

Stackable boxes? May have to investigate.

I sorted mine recently and any boxes that only used particular lids were numbered on both box and lid so it was obvious. Has stopped Tupperware induced rages.Grin

Unfortunately my small kitchen doesn't allow fir drawers 😢I'm in the process of refurbish it, but still no way to put in large drawers 😢

The plastic cupboard if doom gets regularly tidied, sorted, restacked, but being barely 5ft it's not easy to put things back properly, so they tend to get launched at it 🙇🏻‍♀️

This cupboard will be going in order to fit in the full size fridge and another for a slimline dishwasher.

I have no bloidy idea what I'm going to do. And every possible layout has been tried. It's just a small kitchen with too many pipes/doors/gas meters etc (and all removal/changing options have been explored!!). Acceptance & further ruthless 'thinning out' is required.
