Hi everyone, does anybody have economy 7 meters? How do you manage? And if you dont mind me asking how much does it cost you? For a 2 bed flat just electric

And also im thinking about getting a timer for the washing machine setting it as late as i can between the cheaper rate times. Can i use it if my washing machine requires me to press start to run? Heard some people say it doesnt.

If it’s really cold put the input up.
It will only use electricity and charge you between the E7 hours, whatever they are.
Don’t adjust the output up unless you need extra heat in the evening, and remember to put it down again before bed.
The hour the water is on in the evening will be costing you.

If you heat up a tankful of hot water overnight, it should last you all day. Most are factory insulated. You need to experiment with timings so you know how long it takes to heat the water you need.It makes sense to have it on early morning rather than midnight. Really important to know when your cheaper hours end.

Anything that generates a lot of heat will use a lot of electricity for the time it's on. You should be able to set your washing machine with the start button pressed on a timer - easy to find out! If you're not allowed to use it at night, you can set it to wash and delay the spin until the morning.

You shouldn't need another hours worth or water for your sons bath, the water heated up the night before should be fine?

I can't see how a timer switch is going to work for a washing machine, you need to press start, but check whether your washing machine has a delay function.

If you're not getting enough water for a bath in the afternoon, it might be worth getting your immersions checked on the tank. Our water was always cold by afternoon and I could never get a bath out of what was left. Had both immersions replaced and the water heats up so much hotter and stays hot for longer...might not be the issue but just a thought.
