Deodorised leather sofa with vinegar, it now reeks of vinegar...

It smelled quite whiffy after a few months of a friend camping out on it. So I ran a vinegar soaked cloth over it all, I didn’t think the vinegar would linger so much. Any tips on lifting the new whiff?!

Wipe it down with urine, the amonia will neutralise the vinegar. Make sure to use quite a lot of urine- dog urine is best.

I hope thats a joke.....don't do it! The smell should dissipate.

Sugar soap?

How long since you vinegar-ed?

Thisismytimetoshine · 20/09/2020 00:03

It'll wear off.

Celledora · 20/09/2020 00:15

I did it about 24 hours ago, good to hear it might wear off!

@raddledoldmisanthropist any other house keeping tips?

Open the windows - it will wear off.

@Celledora and @raddledoldmisanthropist - I am leaning out my kitchen cupboards in a fit of virtuosity and thought I would browse the Housekeeping threads with a cup of tea. Your posts really made me giggle - thank you. OP I hope the vinegariness has gone.
