Paint flaking off the inside of my oven door.

Is this safe? How can I remedy this.

Are you sure it’s paint? My BBQ always has what looks like peels and flakes of shiny black paint over the internal lid and sides but it’s actually baked on grease that has turned to carbon and is flaking off. It’s essentially a self cleaning operation.

When the oven is completely cool and dry try brushing off the flakes with a stiff wire brush or heavy duty scouring pad and then vacuuming up the debris.

Sadly if it is peeling paint I think the only answer would be to get a new oven but the explanation above seems more likely to me.
