Big 'shout out' to all the cleaners!

I normally have a cleaner who comes for 2 hours each week. As a result I don't do much cleaning, other than wiping down the bathroom/kitchen after use and occasionally hoovering e.g. if dirt has been brought in.

The cleaner comes while I'm at work and when she's been the place is spotless. She also keeps on top of less frequent jobs like cleaning the inside windows or the inside of the fridge.

She's not been able to come since mid-March, so I've been doing bits of hoovering/dusting etc. Today, I decided to do a big clean. So far I've spent three hours, the rooms I have cleaned still don't feel as clean as when the cleaner's been, and I still have to do the kitchen!

I didn't realise how hard she worked during the two hours, and I can't wait for her to be able to come back!

Snap. Am struggling without our cleaner. She is amazing. Such an underappreciated job.

You're lucky you've got a good one, make sure you hang onto them! Since ours stopped coming, I've found all the bits she hasn't cleaned. Basic stuff too, like the corners of windowsills, behind the tv etc. I'm still paying her, but I'll need to discuss it when she returns.

I took ages doing our three toilets (downstairs we have a shower too) en-suite and bathroom upstairs. My DH said I must be doing it better than our cleaner as it took so long - I said nope! Our cleaner deffo does it really well I'm just rubbish and slower than her!!

Our cleaner is amazing!!!!! I cannot wait to have her back. I wonder if she did come back she would have to wear gloves and a mask?!

Any ideas on how they can come back?

I have 1 customer atm. He stays in his office downstairs!! I wear gloves and bleach everywhere first! I iron then clean. Then leave.
Get home and shower and change clothes.
50 %of my customers are still paying me. Others were either newish or aren't receiving any furloughed cash themselves. I hope my business will get back to normal quite soon after lockdown eases...

Well my cleaner thought it would still be ok to come, if she followed the rules for tradespeople, or if I left the house for my daily exercise at the same time. The reason she's not coming is that she has nobody to look after the kids while the school is closed.

To be honest I am glad she can't come as I would not really feel comfortable having someone else in the house. But there are a few of her customers who she's still cleaning for during lockdown.

Mine was off with a 'needs replacing' hip from just before lockdown, so I've just sent her her sick pay for April. She's not having a great time at all, almost immobile and waiting for the surgery appointment that might not come for months...

I am starting to really struggle (see my thread below on ME/CFS)... just want to know how to get her to clean for one session safely!
