Does biro come out of curtains in the wash?

My dd (19m) has scribbled in biro all over our curtains - blue/green/brown patterned, so it could be worse. Will it come out in a 40 degree wash?

Doesn't something silly like hairspray work on biro?

Yes, it is hairspray that works. Don't know why or how, but a quick spray of the stuff seems to do the trick!
