DH put this in the dishwasher this morning and it's sat there wet all day. Can't believe how bad it looks! Anything I can do to rescue it?

I'd be very tempted to take something like a Brillo pad to that, then giving it a good wash in hot soapy water and drying immediately.

Mine looks like that. I've never got all the marks off.

You could try the 2 pence coin trick, maybe on the back where it won’t matter if you make it even worse.

Tiredeyesalways · 04/03/2020 18:33

Will the Brillo not take off the non-stick coating as well? Worth a try anyway I suppose.
Never heard of the 2 pence thing - will Google it!
Thank you

Do you use paper cake/muffin cases?
If so, I just wouldn’t worry, as it’s purely aesthetic.
And to be honest I’ve got tins like that that I cook jam tarts in with no lining and they turn out fine, no metal taint

shakethatshack · 04/03/2020 18:38

Have you tried rubbing a dishwasher tablet over the stains?

Tiredeyesalways · 04/03/2020 18:46

Yes I use it for tarts too - good to know it shouldn't affect the flavour, thanks.

I'll try the dishwasher tab as well to see if that does anything. From memory though, I was v disappointed when I did the oven door with a dishwasher tab - not sure I have the knack with that!

Sorry; I didn't realise it was a non-stick muffin pan underneath all that!

You could try rubbing it with a thin coating of veg oil. But I think this is more of metal tins rather than nonstick.
