Hotel/holiday let cleaners - please share your tips - how do clean so immaculately?

What are your tips, when I stay elsewhere the rooms are always so clean - and I mean not a hair in sight
I know holiday homes/hotel rooms will be partly about less clutter and very regular cleaning....but what else?...or is that it?

Maybe you could use the organised mum method for cleaning it. But condensed?

I thought that OM more about routine - whereas I was thinking 'tricks of the trade'.... Just how do cleaners ensure no hair ( not one) are left on the floor, how do they ensure mirrors are streak free, glass shower screens too - and they often clean in minimal time.

Wondered their secrets.

They get done virtually every day so no time to build up crud.

Hotel room:-

Enter room and open windows.
Strip bed and pull it slightly away from the wall.
Collect all linens and towels etc and put outside room.
Collect all litter, checking round the bed, all drawers and cupboards, bag and put outside room.
Wash mugs and glasses with soapy water in the bathroom sink.
Empty the kettle. Check if it needs swapping. Clean the teatray and put away.
Clean bathroom- polish mirror. damp soapy cloth to wash away much on fixtures. Rinse. Spray with cleaning product. Wipe with dry cloth, buffing.
Check the shower curtain see if it needs replacing.
New towels and bath mat.
Check if floor needs a sweep.
Fresh binbag in the bathroom and top up toiletries.
Close the door.
Remake the bed and push it back.
Dust all surfaces and internals of drawers and cupboards. Dust picture frames.
Polish the mirror.
Put the magazine's and menus where they ought to be.
Put the tv remote back.
Check the floor for vacuuming.
New bin bag.
Close the windows and leave.

WOW Bernadette and i bet super fast - might practice that for when the 'kids' are back at Xmas ... any tips for the tricky bits- I know i leave long hair on the bathroom floor when i stay anywhere.

Pillowcases work really well clean glass, mirrors and even for drying sinks and baths.

Fwiw I think drying stuff is key. We have an Airbnb /hol home and when I'm cleaning between guests I dry the bath, glass shower thing, sink and toilet (don't do toilet with towels!). When it's just us they get cleaned but not dried and they definitely look not as impressive iykwim

They're cleaned every day and it's easier to clean if there is no clutter anywhere. Start in one corner of the room and work your way round checking every section. They will also have a check list be it mental or an actual list that they work from.

I hoover, mop the do a final hoover for the floors. I use paper towel to dry the sinks / shower / bath etc. That seems to help.

A professional cleaner told me that you need to dry and buff after cleaning, leaving things damp is what leaves smears and attracts dust again.

Also, leave priducts to sit a good while before wiping off. 5 mins at least

Drying and polishing definitely helps!

I spend 5 hrs cleaning a small 2 bed apartment.

All bedside tables, toilet brushes, bins etc are wall hung so easy to clean underneath.

I agree drying makes a huge difference, especially if like me you live in a very hard water area.

I do the changeover day for a two bed holiday cottage. My routine is ..

Open all windows.

Strip beds, put in washer. I add a capful if diluted zoflora to washer. (At home I wash bedding and towels weekly).

When bedding finished, put towels in washer, put bedding in tumbler.

Empty all bins.

Spray the inside of the oven door and the floor tray. I like cif oven cleaner as it doesn't stink. Leave to work while wiping over the kitchen worktops, table/chairs and appliances. I use diluted zoflora with a micro fibre cloth, warm water. Clean down hob and oven.

Highlevel dusting, horizontal dusting, low level dusting. I use a feather duster then go round with my polish and cloth duster. Wiping off tv controls, lightswitches, lamps, light fittings.

Move furniture to hoover underneath, I pull off the main sofa cushions to do under those, areas you can't see but make a difference and keep sofas looking nicer for longer.

Before heading upstairs I spray mop the downstairs.

Make beds. Put clean towels out.

Clean bathroom. I use white vinegar spray with kitchen roll. It removes water marks so no buffing needed. Spray mop the floor.

Mirrors done with white vinegar.

Wipe over inside windows with white vinegar.

Hoover stairs and upstairs.

I also wash windows outside and do the lawns.

I'm loving this - I use white vinegar sometimes too on glass - is it safe on chrome taps too?

Just reading back ( and as I have another thread running) any tips for removing hair from the bathroom floor ( ceramic tiles) please?

Yes! Hair comes off beautifully with a dry window squeegee! I use them for tiled floors and once its all in a neat ball I vac it up. They also work well on hairy carpets but I tend to scrape floors with my trainers now to loosen hair to vac up.

I was a rubbish hotel cleaner one summer (I was clean but too slow). There is a lot of wiping again with the towel that's going in the wash to make sure you get every last hair.
It was a family hotel so no changing shower curtains though.

You can get a rubbery pet brushes- made for getting pethair off floors but good for human hair too. Mines a handbrush but I think you can get brron style ones
