Just that really: how do I remove those greyish scratch marks from where something metal has butted up against the side of the sink?

Try magic sponge

thescarftwins · 11/01/2020 08:59

Scrub Daddy and some bleach

Ginfordinner · 11/01/2020 09:01

Toothpaste.
It really does work.

Or Bar Keepers Friend cream cleaner.

MaureenMLove · 11/01/2020 09:03

T Cut works too.

Fill the sink with hot water and a bit of washing powder. Gentle scrub, job done.

kjhkj · 11/01/2020 09:10

I agree with the magic eraser. It takes everything off ours

domesticslattern · 11/01/2020 09:16

Bar Keepers Friend. Bloody amazing stuff.

Bar Keepers Friend. Bloody amazing stuff.

I can't believe how magical it is for removing stains. I hate the smell of it though.

Bowerbird5 · 11/01/2020 10:02

Bleach - which your not supposed to use but I did twice dilute.

Bar Keeper’s Friend I got a spray one with either the kitchen or the stove. It seems good.

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 11/01/2020 10:17

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll try the Barkeeper's Friend. Have tried magic erasers to no avail. If it doesn't work, I'll try all the suggestions and see how I go.

I have a similar problem with my sink. It's as if the washing up bowl has worn off some of the glaze. Bleach doesnt work, but may try Bar K Friend.

Oliversmumsarmy · 11/01/2020 10:24

Baby bottle disinfectant on a wad of cotton wool and left over night

drumandthebass · 11/01/2020 11:46

I agree with barkeepers friend as well. Although the powder is much better than the liquid one

Ginfordinner · 11/01/2020 14:26

Make sure it is the cream version ElizabethinherGermanGarden. The spray is no better than any other cleaner. It is very similar to Cif in consistency.

Have you tried toothpaste first?

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 11/01/2020 16:35

I'm lazing about watching telly so haven't tried anything yet! But will bear it in mind. Is it something I'd have to go to Lakeland for??

Bleach for the loo - the only product that cleans mine. I will never get another Belfast sink!!!!

user1493494961 · 11/01/2020 17:46

I bought Barkeepers Friend (powder version) in our local hardware shop (agree about the smell).

LazyFace · 11/01/2020 21:05

I just scrubbed them away with baking powder/bicarb of soda.
