how to remove fake blood from white shirt post halloween

I told DP it would be a bad idea to use fake blood whilst wearing his best white shirt, but he insisted it would be fine. I have washed at 30, 60 and used copious Vanish. The stained area is very pink and not fading. Surely these things can't be permanent?! Help!

Rub talc into the stain, add white vinegar, leave overnight and then a cold wash according to Google Smile

I'd give up. DTs still have red on their faces.

I gave up. I told ds he had to use an old schol shirt that was getting small for him rather than one of his new ones. I put it in soak and it stained my sink.

If i were a murderer, this is exactly what I would post ! Hmm

If it's one of those from the supermarket they have plastic in so using anything hot is a bad idea. I think you may be past the point of no return

Maybe the greaseproof paper + iron trick may or may not help

I got fake blood on a lovely white dress a few years ago at Halloween, I spent a small fortune and weeks of my time trying to get it out.
I tried all the stain removers in the supermarket, I tried tips from google and online forums.
I tried vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice, acetone, hydrogen peroxide, even bleach.

It was only a small amount where someone had hugged me and accidentally wiped their fake blood make up on me but it still ruined the dress.
everything I tried failed and it was still just a pink splodge.
I even took it to a dry cleaners who supposedly specialise in stain removal but they said it wasn’t even worth trying, fake blood is basically just concentrated food colouring in a syrup and it’s impossible to remove.

Oh no, it was a supermarket cheapy Halloween makeup set. Sounds like there is no hope, although I'll give the talc and vinegar a go cos I guess I have nothing to lose. And I'd have to be a bit stupid to commit murder and post this thread Hmm Thanks for the thoughts people!

It stained my face for days!

I'd be tempted to bleach it. Use cheap thin bleach and soak for half an hour. You've got nothing to lose really. Plenty of rinses!

Diluted, obvs

@DonPablo - full marks! Nearly out.
