Miele C3 Cat & Dog vs Dyson Animal Ball 2 - opinions please!

I need a new vacuum cleaner and as always I'm stuck dithering.

I'm now down to either the Miele C3 Cat & Dog or the Dyson Animal Big Ball 2. They are similar weight and the probably the maximum I want to lug up and down the stairs (2 flights).

We have wooden floors on the ground floor and carpet on the stairs and bedrooms. We had a dog but he's not allowed upstairs.

The Miele C3 Cat & Dog is around £200 but I would have to buy filters and bags.
The Dyson Animal Ball 2 is £299.

Are bagged better than bagless?
Are Miele better/worse than Dyson?

I'd like your wise opinions please!

I've had both. 2 dogs and 2 cats here. Dyson did not cope at all. Miele is wonderful. BUT I have the Miele cat and dog blizzard. No bags!!! Would highly recommend it.

Thanks stormsurfer. Is the Blizzard not too big though, I found it heavy and bulky when I looked at it in store?

I guess it is bigger and heavier but then I was so frustrated with all the others (as well as the Dyson, I had a G tech K9 and a shark) not being able to cope, that I knew I had to go bigger. I was so happy when the Miele actually could do the job! But you have less "animal load" than me, so maybe it would be overkill for you?

The blizzard might seem heavy, but it's really easy to steer with a slight flick.

I far prefer it to my old dyson animal, as that required an effort to move around.
