Hi - I'm new to this, but desperately hope someone out there can help me!

I'll try to keep this as short as poss:
Last week, cat bought a bird into lounge overnight and completely masacred it. It was everywhere! ewww... VERY DH cleared it all up - bless him.
Next day, horrible smell, so thought we'd hire a carpet cleaner, to completey rid us of 'bird'.
Did that, room smelled lovely - however, smell appeared in spare room?! Soon discovered that afore mention cat had bought another bird in which hid in DS farmhouse (which was originally in lounge before carpet cleaning occured)...and died!
Cat (very much in bad books) was shut in house whilst we were out for day (has litter tray etc). Got home, thought I could smell faint cat wee..but DH couldn't smell it. Next day..FOUL smell! Thought it was deffo cat wee. Have tried EVERYTHING suggested on this page to get rid of smell but to no avial at all...bi carb, pet spray from vets, lemon juice, febreeze, shake n vac, re-vaxed carpet...smell just gets worse....Now we're not even sure if it is cat wee...can't locate a particular spot, everywhere just stinks! Have read that vaxing can cause wool carpets to smell?! Could it be that? What 'sort' of smell would that make? More's the point how can I rid my entire lounge carpet of this bloody awful stench??? (without getting a new one if poss?!)

Diluted Zoflora disinfectant might do the trick ... but for how long it's difficult to say.

And lose the cat?

I think its Glade that do a carpet mouse, I tried it last week, you just spray on, its gone and dry in a couple of minutes, it has worked wonders on our living room carpet that has smelled for ages, I think due to carpet shampooing (wool carpet)

will try to find a link.

Thanks Totaleclipse, that'd be great!....and I will also look out for Zoflora this afternoon when I go shopping ...but doesn't disinfectant contain something that makes the cat want to 'go' there again?....Mind you, really not convinced it is cat wee now...

There was just enough in the tin to do about 10x6 foot, so you may need more than 1 hope it helps.
