I have just bought some cotton t shirts to take on holiday. I am away for a month travelling around and will need to do laundry and get it dry quickly. Can I tumble dry these cotton t shirts?

They will probably shrink a bit.
Depends how much you paid and if you want to risk it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wouldn't. They might shrink really badly, then you'll have no shirts to wear.

lljkk · 03/08/2019 13:52

at very low heat you'd get away with it

Youngandfree · 03/08/2019 14:00

Of course you can...but if what you are really asking is will it come out looking like the same t shirt?? Then I wouldn’t say so. 😂

Wrap them in a towel and keep the worst of the heat away from them and then while they are still a little damp, remove them and let them finish naturally over a chair or balcony etc. Or just give them an extra spin in the washer?

Chappy55 · 03/08/2019 14:39

I don't think I will get the option of letting them dry naturally as we are going to Canada in September, Also we are travelling around so only one and 2 nights in each place so not enough time tolet them dry naturally.

Can you turn one radiator on and dry the t shirt on that rather than tumble dry?

NotMyFIrstTIme · 07/08/2019 15:47

I always tumble-dry my & my husband's cotton t-shirts. I'd suggest washing & drying them (non-tumble) once before you go in case of any initial shrinkage, then make sure you wash & dry at a low heat.
Have the got any printing or embroidery on them? IME, that's what's likely to cause an issue - just be sure to wash & dry inside-out.

Chappy55 · 08/08/2019 08:45

Thanks NMFT - they are plain t-shirts. I will wash them before I go.

Do a test, if they’re the same brand and sizes. Wash and tumble dry one then compare with the others.
