trying to stay awake by tidying the house??? DS3 was awake at 4.30 (pretty average for him) but unlike most early mornings I haven't been able to sleep - just a few 10/15 minute cat naps....

Need to have a shower first, but also need to empty dishwasher, do a load of washing, make the DS's beds, clean the last worktop in the kitchen (did the other 3 last week and they're still immaculate - and one that looks like a bomb has hit it), make up the bottles, tody up the "diner" part of the lounge/diner - and probably a million and one other things......

So who's up for a (tired) Monday cleaning session??

I've got loads to do too Fannyannie, just trying to talk myself into getting off MN and on with it!

fannyannie · 09/07/2007 11:45

ok lets go - I need to get dressed (sat here with towel wrapped round me ) and make the DS's bed before getting DS2 his lunch - hopefully all before DS3 wakes up again

I'll help!
I need to make bed, put a pile of washing away, do a load of dishes, hoover and polish. Also have to check bill stuff and make a couple of phone calls

Motivated by this very thread I will now go and attempt to do a job before dd wakes up!
meet you back her asap for a little mning reward and a cup of tea.

lilolilmanchester · 09/07/2007 11:48

ok, I'll go and put some washing in

massivebigpantsface · 09/07/2007 12:01

how you getting on?

I've done the clothes and the bed, now I'm off to do the dishes.

I reckon its fair to say that each task deserves 10-15minutes of mning later!

lilolilmanchester · 09/07/2007 12:04

washing on and have wiped finger prints off patio doors. Need to tidy our bedroom now - actually worse than either of the kids' rooms I'm ashamed to admit

massivebigpantsface · 09/07/2007 12:18

right, i've done the dishes and now dd is awake so that puts the chores on hold for a bit (phew!).
not bad for half an hours work though!

lilolilmanchester · 09/07/2007 12:20

well done massivepants, go enjoy some time off with DD!! Thanks for spurring me on, bedroom 1/4 tidied (but computer in same room so too tempting to keep coming back to MN!)

fannyannie · 09/07/2007 12:31

right I'm back to update - I've made the 2 older DS's beds (full bed change for DS1 - as he was wet (again LOL) and changed bottom sheet for DS2 - his nappy had leaked), put a load of washing on, got lunch for DS2 and myself - and eaten it, finished emptying the dishwasher and got dressed !

Just having 2 minutes (not sure if DS3 is about to wake up or not....) before I try and make a start on the bookcase in the living room - it's a sort of 'general dumping ground' for books, letters, papers, DS's pens and crayons, catalogues etc etc etc, and then once that's done I'll tidy the few papers off the piano and dust it and clean the table (which until alst night was also covered in papers ).

Then of the things I "must" do before DH gets home from work tonight (he doesn't "expect" me to do them, but I like them to be done) there'll just be the bottles, dinner (and tiyding up the aftermath - I'm a messy cooker ), hang the clothes to dry, and move the toys and shoes from outside our bedroom door.

Anything else will be a bonus (and just help to keep me awake)

isn't it amazing though how much you can get done in a short space of time when you just concentrate and get it done.........I always delay doing things as it looks like they'll take ages - but once I get into it most jobs just 'fly' by

OP posts:
lilolilmanchester · 09/07/2007 12:34

You've been busy! I've got 20 mins before I have to go out for an hour. Will see if I can finish our bedroom before then (including ironing yesterdays washing and putting away!)

lilolilmanchester · 09/07/2007 12:35

must admit, I've never joined in any of the "fly" threads cos they all sound like superwomen, but have found this motivating today - esp as I haven't got the excuse of little ones being at home, so thanks!

fannyannie · 09/07/2007 12:57

oops just wasted 20 minutes - I'm still here - about to get of my bottom and go and hang the washing on the line though..........honest!

OP posts:
lilolilmanchester · 09/07/2007 13:59

I'm back, and about to vac downstairs

fannyannie · 09/07/2007 14:20

well I've hung the washing out on the line (it's nearly dry now), and washed the bottles, DS3 woke up 50 minutes ago so I've been 'sorting' him out for most of the time.

About to go and change his nappy (again LOL) and give him yet more milk then it'll nearly be time to pick DS1 up from school.

OP posts:
lilolilmanchester · 09/07/2007 14:22

must check my washing line (the stuff that wasn't quite dry before tea yesterday then I forgot about it so it was soaking wet this morning!)
Then I must eat (not had lunch yet) and got a couple of errands to do before school run!
Then finish ironing and putting stuff away before tea.
Not sure if I'll be online tomorrow as DH might be working from home and will need the computer. Will look out for you if I'm on! Enjoy the rest of your day.

massivebigpantsface · 09/07/2007 20:46

well done you two!
I didn't do so well - after dd woke up that was it - she's teething and she just cried all day, didn't even get a chance to have lunch!

I'll try again tomorrow...

I definately don't do those fly threads either - far to organised unlike me! I'm more of a 'fly by night' as far as housekeeping goes, I just wing it.

lilolilmanchester · 09/07/2007 20:50

aw, poor DD! You got your priorities right tho, housework will wait!
