Would AO/Curry's delivery men put a tumble dryer upstairs?

Really need a tumble dryer but the only place it could go in my house is up two flights of stairs on the second floor in my (huge) bathroom.

If I order and pay for installation would they take it up for me?

My AO Delivery Men did and couldn't have been nicer about it. (One flight of stairs though). TDs are not heavy like WM so you can only ask!

This is from the Curry's website (the customer services section regarding deliveries) - you may want to check with them first to avoid disappointment on delivery day.

" Also, our team members reserve the right to cancel deliveries that could endanger their health and safety. So if you require large-item delivery to a room or flat above the first floor of your home or block, our team will only be able to decide if it can do this on arrival".

I have a stacking TD /WM ( specially built wooden shelf when I had the building work done)
I got a TD from Currys , they brought it too the kitchen but wouldn't lift it .

Currys won't but I'd avoid them at all cost anyway - had a horrific experience with them and their customer service when they screw up is diabolical.

Don't know re AO

I'm fairly sure coop electrical would (they have fab delivery people and customer service) and I would really recommend them.

Call or email and check though before ordering from anywhere.

Feel pretty sure AO would as there is a mini questionnaire covering number of steps at the end of the ordering process.

I buy all my white goods from AO and have always found their delivery guys fantastic. My most recent purchase was a heavy washer/dryer for my adult dd who lives in a ground floor apartment in a complex of 16 apartments for young adults with SLD.

I paid extra to have old one disconnected and new one fitted but the old one was being moved to another apartment in the complex which involved negotiating 10 steps. We told the lovely delivery guys just to leave the old one in the corridor outside DD's apartment as a few of the managers/office staff were going to move it to new apartment. The AO guys fitted the new one and then said, "Right, just show us where you want the old one going and we'll take it!"

Everyone was astounded how great they were but they now realise why I use AO so much. 🙂

I’d avoid Curry’s at all costs, they’re delivery men were rude and exceptionally unhelpful. They left my fridge on my driveway, wouldn’t even bring it into the house!

DoraChance · 24/11/2018 17:34

Don't know about Curry's but John Lewis did for me. I checked with them in advance and tipped the drivers. They couldn't have been nicer.

AO have always delivered our appliances to the first floor with no issue. We always use them - I find them excellent.
