Just knocked a wax melty thing all over my upholstered sofa - help!

What can I do to get it out? Google suggests an iron over a white tea towel but it has that protective stain guard thing on it so I'm worried an iron might make it worse.

Please help! Hoping others have been just as clumsy and had some success in cleaning it up!

I’ve used a warm iron over a sheet of kitchen roll on carpet to get out red candle wax. Worked really well for me.

Iron over kitchen roll. The iron melts the wax again and the kitchen roll soaks it up.
