We've tried companies in the past but their cleaners either steal from us or don't clean well. Our independent cleaner whom we had for 15 years before she left london, was amazing- she cleaned floors by hand & brought her own miele vacuum.
We tried another company recently with good online ratings but the manager turned up & said "I can't guarantee ours will clean floors by hand, most don't want to, it depends on personality. As for your miele vaccuum they won't want to use that, it's too heavy... & your spare shark vaccuum they won't want to bother with the fuss of that. You should get a Henry " - I was shocked by this attitude.. When I worked in a cleaning job as a student & even now I'm in an office job, I couldn't refuse certain parts of the job I didn't particularly like. The strange part was the manager acted like this is perfectly normal.
She also insisted on us paying for 2 hours even if the cleaner finishes in 1 hour each week, which she said was likely given the area is quite small.
We don't know anyone else who knows a decent cleaner to ask..
