Does anyone have a cleaner come when they are home in the day?

I am considering whether to start using a cleaner. I had always thought we would never be able to have one as I have dogs, one is a bit funny with people sometimes and I am a bit wary of trusting someone in my home when I am out.

I have the chance to work from home sometimes now; would it be weird to get a cleaner round when I am working from home? From the cleaner's perspective I mean, is it quite common? I wouldn't want them to feel spied on but equally I'm not comfortable someone having a key or access when we are out...

Yes I've done this before

HappyHedgehog247 · 24/06/2018 20:45

Yes I do this. I let her in and make sure she has what she needs. Then I am working in my office/spare room. She doesn’t clean that room but does everywhere else.

DH WFH every Wednesday and our cleaner comes every other. DH is fine with it, he just stays in the study and we clean that room ourselves (occasionally Wink).

Yes, always. I'm retired and cleaner comes in on prearranged day each week and I'm almost always in. I don't find it difficult and I don't think she does either. I stay in my sitting room while she does the rest of the house and either go into the dining room or bedroom when she wants to do the sitting room.on

I have a dog too, but lovely cleaner has dogs and we always set aside some time for her to fuss dear dog.

Best thing I ever did, getting her to clean for me

Yes I do. I just move from room to room.
I have two dogs and the younger one is frightened of his own shadow, but now he loves my cleaner.
He will also come in to let them out if I’m away for a few hours.
My cleaner-not the dog

Cleaner here!! Mostly I have keys but the odd customer will be in. (occasional one not an oddball customer!)
One who's ddog disliked everyone was fine with me so she started going out!!
One couple supply tea /biscuits!!
Rest love coming home to a spotless, clean house! So they tell me!!

DS and I are in when the cleaner comes. I ask her to start upstairs while we're having lunch, and then we move about a bit while she cleans downstairs.

It's not an issue at all.
