I've had one in a rental property. One of my stipulations for a new house was that, no matter how much it cost, we had any AGA taken out before we moved in. It's the equivalent of washing your clothes in a bucket and wringing them out in a mangle rather than buying a new washing machine. And that's before you talk about using it in the summer when it's 30 degrees outside. You don't say if you've ever lived with one before, but if you haven't, I'd really advise you to do so for a month or two.....

Had one for 4 years and hated it.
Crazy expensive to run.
Too hot in summer.
Impossible to cook on well - can't control the temp of the oven or the hob. As soon as you put something big in the temp drops and takes ages to get back up.
If you are going to get one, make sure you have a normal cooker and hob as well.

Another one here who is going to sing the praises of an Everhot. Absolutely love it. It cooks everything beautifully, customer service is brilliant. We’ve had it for two years and it’s one of the few things that just works, no need for maintenance it just does it’s job wonderfully. We have a separate multifunction oven, but I’ve never used it as I love the Everhot so much.

Love ours. It’s a wood burning one which heats the hot water and heating as well.

I have a TC. Have had it 4 years and prior to that had an oil one for 4 years.
I love my Aga and wouldn't hesitate having another, the TC is perfect for flexibility when you don't have a second cooker. I have had mine switched off during this hot weather and just put the ovens on when they were needed. It doesn't take long to heat up, its just getting used to remembering to do it!( And the kids remembering to turn the tops off!)
It took me a bit to get used to the TC after the oil but if you haven't had any before it won't be a problem.

Aga lover here. Have a gas 2 oven for 18 years now - only cooker i have and love it. Costs £120 pa for servicing and rarely goes wrong. The traditional heat storage agas do cook differently to ordinary cookers and you need to learn how to use them to best effect. I wouldnt want a TC as its then like a normal cooker, just in a very expensive cast iron case! Once you have one it should last for ever. Modern cookers dont and i would think the TC might only last like a modern cooker meaning parts will wear out and need replacing at huge cost eventually - even if the outer casing lasts. I even moved house with mine 😄
