Waaaah! What the bloody hell is all over my new pillowcase and how do I get rid of it? Sunscreen?

I’m gutted. I’ve just washed our lovely new expensive bedding and gone to peg it out to find one pillowcase with a horrible yellowy mark on it. Looking at the washing I hung out earlier I can see some marks on my white t shirt and vest too so whatever it is has come from me. I’ve ised Piz Buin allergy sunscreen spray but hadn't noticed these marks before washing. Have I set the stain by washing? I’ve got them all soaking in a bucket of vanish now but can I actually get these stains out?

If it’s sun cream you can usually get it out using an anti calc such as viakal, although I use supermarket own brands. I’ve only done it on white cotton like towels and sheets though so don’t know about coloureds

I'm hoping there's an answer as my white shorts have yellow marks on them from sunscreen!

I had the same type of sunscreen stains on two lovely white shirts.
The best thing by far was soaking the area in lemon juice and putting out to dry in full sun.
I really didn’t believe it was going to work but the stain disappeared completely.

Not sure if it would work on coloured material though...

It’s all white stuff so I’ll give either the lemon juice or the viakal a whirl, thanks so much x it’s given me the incentive to wash out my machine too, the detergent drawer is soaking as we speak and I’ll do a maintenance wash today. I’ll keep my fingers crossed it works. With the viakal, do I need to scrub the clothes with it or just add it to the wash? I’m not entirely sure what it is!

I just spray it on to the stain, leave it to soak in for a little while, then re wash as normal

Sodacrystals works
