Mumsnet deals - free laundry capsules

Hello everyone,

We thought you might be interested in a free trial of a new brand called smol, who deliver super concentrated laundry capsules to your door. For just £1 postage, smol will send you nine free capsules so you can give them a try.

Smol capsules are, well, small and they're delivered in special compact packaging too, meaning they will fit through your letterbox and take up less cupboard space. Both bio and non-bio detergent options are available and all of their packaging is 100% recyclable.

Just tell smol how many capsules you use per wash, and how many washes you do per week, and they will work out how often you should receive their 24 pack. After your free trial, a pack of 24 capsules costs just £3.85 - up to 50% cheaper than major brands - and delivery is free. Your first regular delivery will arrive 10 days after your free trial, but you can skip a delivery or cancel at any time.

Claim your nine free washes here.

Mumsnet carries some affiliate marketing links, so if you buy something through our posts, we may get a small share of the sale (more details here).

The first paid delivery arrives just 10 days after the free trial.that doesn't give nearly enough cancellation time IMO. It seems to me only try if you don't mind paying for at least one lot of an unknown product.

Would much have preferred this as an offer in return for reviews.

I got an email from them asking if there was a problem as I hadn't completed the transaction etc.

I replied saying it was because they don't accept PayPal.

They replied

So sorry XXXXXXXXXX our regulated payment partner doesn't accept Paypal - we are working on a solution but at present we cant offer PayPal.

What I like about them is they clean as well as any other products I've tried and have fewer chemicals... best of all worlds!

Justmuddlingalong · 18/04/2018 11:56

I've signed up. You can skip a delivery or bring your delivery forward as and when you need to. And cancel too. Seems worth a bash.

SluttyButty · 18/04/2018 12:01

That's me out too! I only pay online with PayPal these days for deliveries.
Shame because I do love a bargain!

OdileDeCaray · 18/04/2018 12:17

SluttyButty

Same here! I'm always surprised when PayPal is not an option, they will lose out on a lot of customers if they don't add it as a payment option!

TireSwing · 18/04/2018 13:00

@musicposy - I just cancelled as soon as I'd signed up for my samples. If I like them I'll just "reactivate", otherwise will go back to my Aldi washing powder

SallyVating · 18/04/2018 14:29

Won't accept my card :(

londonrach · 18/04/2018 16:40

Sorry but £1 for an unknown product is not cheap. £1 is still a £1 with the huge risk of it coming through the post for a toddler to get. A free trial is free end of story. That me out!

FelixBrown · 18/04/2018 16:48

This is either going to be a lot of plastic so bad for the environment, or insecure and dangerous for children. Because no matter how well behaved you think your children are, somebody else's will open the post.

BiddydeBint · 18/04/2018 20:14

Do they smell nice?

LippyZippy · 19/04/2018 17:29

Hmmm, a lot of plastic there. No.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 19/04/2018 17:30

I like my usual brand but I love the name!

flowerslemonade · 20/04/2018 06:03

But do they make you feel smol? :)

Keilninnock · 20/04/2018 06:05

This is the most hilarious thread ever!
Do these people really exist or are they all trolls satirising the twitchy mummy stereotype 😆😆😆

MaggieFS · 20/04/2018 06:52

Anyone else feel a bit Hmmabout MNHQ using the word free in the title when there is no way to get these without paying £1? Come on Mumsnet, you don't normally sink to these levels. Call it what it is, nine capsules for £1.

specialsubject · 20/04/2018 09:12

'fewer chemicals' rings the greenwash alarm. And sure enough, the ingredients list looks similar to my supermarket laundry liquid which costs half as much and only has one layer of packaging.

herbwy · 20/04/2018 11:25

Neither my dog or my children have shown any interest in smol! But I think they're great. I found smol on Facebook and have had lots of friends recommend it too. I haven't looked back since I started - love not worrying about remembering to buy laundry products, and really appreciate the space and money saving, but having less chemicals is super important as I have a child with sensitive skin and everything else bothers him but this doesn't. Best £1 for a trial I've spent in a very long time.

TipTopTat · 20/04/2018 11:31

What a terrible brand name also I can get a 42 pack of Daz capsules for £4.99 in Home & Bargain. Their prices are far too high for 24 capsules.

specialsubject · 20/04/2018 12:05

Less or fewer chemicals is of course nonsense. Water is a chemical.

It would be interesting to see the evidence to backup this claim....

SneakyGremlins · 20/04/2018 12:32

Mine just arrived!

DidNotThinkItWouldHappenHere · 20/04/2018 14:02

specialsubject, the capsules are small. So I guess as the are smaller than usual, they use less..

specialsubject · 20/04/2018 15:11

Ooh, you cynic... Smile
