Morning

I am not dressed yet and my sink has stuff in it

I am going to out both of those things now if DD will let me.

I have put the next few days on this thread as I am off to my brothers house and don't know when I will be back online, but here is day 4

Mine was the box at the end of the bed - lost under clothes. Got most of it done in the 2 mins, so stayed till I finished.

Have actually had a very productive morning, thanks to dh being at work and the kids happy to entertain themselves.

My 3rd load of washing is going to have to be tumbled though - I've run out of rack space!

Chirpygirl · 07/05/2007 13:13

I'm waiting for the ice things for my tumble dryer to freeze before I can dry anything, I can't hang washing inside while DD is up! And I don't trust this sunshine enough to hang her nappies outside....

sorkycake · 07/05/2007 14:48

Have decided my first hotspot is the kids car seats. They're recently returned to us and are filthy , I've been meaning to get round to it and now the covers are in the washer.
2 loads of baby stuff out on the line. I'm willing to chance the rain as there's so much wind.
Need to sort the non-ironing pile, have done a small amount of ironing too. Might go see what's going on elsewhere on MN.

glassslipper · 07/05/2007 14:51

sounds like everyone is doing well

I did my dressing table hotspot and I need to go and get the washing out of the machine. Sink is still shiny as we went out for lunch

glassslipper · 08/05/2007 09:13

Morning.

Sink shiny. Check.
2 min hotspot. Check. I cleared one half of the kitchen worktops of all clutter so now I have toaster, kettle, coffee machine, juicer & canisters on there and that's it. Megahotspot on other side of kitchen but we can forget about that for now

burstingbug · 08/05/2007 09:19

I have an almost shiny sink.
Have dusted downstairs this morning as I had the urge.
Cleared one hot spot yesterday which is fast growing in clutter again
Not been able to hang out laundry due to the weather, but I have 2 loads awaiting the line.
Hope to tackle another hotspot today.
Have a carrier bag with bits in awaiting a new home upstairs.
Had a shower last night, so no need this morning, will get dressed in a mo and take the dog for a walk whilst DH is home to watch the kids.

BUT ....... I made the mistake of sitting down and going on MN!
May need to set my timer to only allow myself a max of 30-45 mins on here at a time

glassslipper · 08/05/2007 09:20

here is day 6

sorkycake · 08/05/2007 11:24

I haven't written any reminders to myself, am I doomed to fail?
I told Dh I was back to FLYlady last night and rather than raise an eyebrow he said "well if it helps get things back in order, go for it", THEN.... he washed up .
so onto day 6 then:
sink shiny- check
washing in/out- check
bathrooms cleaned- check
put car seats back in last night.
recycling up-to-date- check
Stood and did ALL the ironing last night so todays hotspot will be to put it all away and sort out the shelves in the bedrooms where it is stored because they used to be neat a la anthea turner, but sadly are no longer.
I may be gone some time LOL

glassslipper · 08/05/2007 12:53

lol. sorkycake. my DH had the same reaction. I think he thinks 'if it works, go with it'

burstingbug · 08/05/2007 13:03

Further update on my day.....

Dog had an hours walk.
Washing from the line in, weather still looks iffy for putting more out.
sink shined
dishwasher loaded
cooked lunch - eating
recycling sorted for Thurs
kitchen cupboard doors and work tops wiped down

Next...
Will hoover downstairs and on the stairs
Need to put laundry away still
Will wipe round bathroom shortly

Having sandwiches for tea so that's quick'n'easy

How am I doing

NormaStanleyFletcher · 08/05/2007 13:40

Helloooo

Thanks for doing the link GS - I am at work today so I am getting NOTHING done. Last night though I blitzed the kitchen, which inspired DH to do the living room

Will check in later when I am home.

Here I am Bug!, I have done my sink, but still no idea what to make for supper .

burstingbug · 08/05/2007 13:47

I fried some cubes of beef with garlic, cooked up pasta, threw it all in a dish, added tinned tomatoes herbs and some veg. Gave it a stir, grated loads of cheese on top and popped it in the oven for half an hour.

DragonFaerie · 08/05/2007 13:50

Do you know what's really ?
I bought myself a slow cooker back in January, and it has sat, unused in my cupboard for 4 months, even though a good friend also leant me a fabulous cookery book to help me use it, oh dear

glassslipper · 08/05/2007 13:55

I bought a slowcooker 7 months ago. I've used it 4 times . If you come up withs some easy recipes let me know.

burstingbug · 08/05/2007 13:57

Fry off meat, throw in slow cooker, add a mix of veg, we use the bag of veg you can get from tesco with leeks, swede, parsnips etc. Throw them in to, oxo cube, spoon of marmite, make some gravy up, sprinkle of herbs.
Put it on first thing in the morning so its ready for dinner in the evening.
I make dumplings for it, so I tranfer everything into a large saucepan for the last half hour so the dumplings can cook

burstingbug · 08/05/2007 14:00

recipes

burstingbug · 08/05/2007 14:01

some more

DragonFaerie · 08/05/2007 14:08

Thanks my wiggly friend, I really should use mine..., what a waste of money otherwise.

burstingbug · 08/05/2007 14:10

Thats ok. We need a bigger one! Ours is far too small. We use our anywhere between once a month to once a week!

sorkycake · 08/05/2007 14:46

I have a posh breadmaker in the loft
I'm off to sort out dinner, I think it'll be a roast dinner tonight, better sort the chicken.
I still haven't put the washing away...right I'm off to do that now, I keep getting sidetracked into playing with the kids!! How shocking!

Chirpygirl · 08/05/2007 15:00

I've done my hot spot(chose dining table and bit next to sink that gets covered in crap), my sink was shining before I washed up, haven't done anything else though as I have no more space for bin bags in the garden!

Bin day is tomorrow so shall get some more sorting done then.

I also have 6 bags of clothes I don't want, and no charity collections lately (typical) so what can I do with them? I can't get to a charity shop with DD and 6 bags of stuff as they are all in the middle of pedestrianised area in town, any ideas?

glassslipper · 08/05/2007 15:02

Chirpygirl. you could freecycle them

glassslipper · 08/05/2007 15:02

thanks for the reipe links burstingbug.

Chirpygirl · 08/05/2007 15:09

I could, but they are sizes from 12 to 22 and I am embarrased at actually meeting the people who want to wear my clothes as they will now I am a crap dieter!

Now I have typed that that is silly, I shall post on freecycle!
