Anyone else unhappy with the house they live in

No matter what how nice I try to make my house I'm not happy here. I've lived here 7 years now and I didn't even like it when I moved in but I had no choice as I needed somewhere to live! If I had a choice now I wouldn't live here. It's a tiny tiny 3 bedroomed house. We are overcrowded by 1 bedroom as my son is on my room, I have 2 girls in one room and 2 girls in another. One of my girls room is a box and can't even move in there, only a set of bunk beds can fit. There is problems with damp and mould but have been told to just ventilate was clean it off ( which I do consistently!)
I've tried to make it a home but I just can't! I hate it!
I also live away from my family and I want to move back to where they live so I applied for a council house around there, I have to bid every week but I don't even make it to the top 100!!! We are overcrowded and I want to move close to family and have been put into medium band but I can see we will never get a move! So looks like I'm stuck here!

Any tips on how I can make my house better and learn to love it Hmm

Have you tried looking for an exchange?

Another option which might be a bit drastic, could be a sofabed for you in the living room, I know not ideal.

Ugh hate my house too. Finally reconciled myself to try and do anything I can to make things a little better. But with a severely limited budget and mostly feeling like I hate the house too much to even try it's hard. We're working towards moving but it's not possible in the near future

Although we aren't over crowded so that makes it (slightly) more bearable
