Do you keep all your childrens drawings and school work?

Just wondered if I am totally crazy keeping so much clutter? Hate to part with treasured pics ect. They end up finally in the loft in huge boxes. Have only now managed to stop myself storing endless birthday cards. Am I alone or one of many?

We display the best bits on ds1's bedroom wall or in the kitchen, the rest goes in a big pile till he's forgotten about it and then gets binned. i hate doing it but we can't keep everything.

Now my 2 eldest sons work is usually all ripped up and throw away, infact they sit at the table discussing what work they dont need and if they dont need it they rip it to pieces,

TBH I did the same when i was at school so i see why they like it

I have a file box for DDs stuff and when she brings any artwork or creations home they get photographed and then the best ones get displayed on the fridge, the ones one the fridge go into the file to be saved and the rest get recycled when she's at her dad's

When the file gets full I go through it and weed out anything not worth keeping and then the remaining items go into the hanging file box I have for DD - there's one file for every year of her life (so 9 so far) which means there's a finite amount of space in the box so I have the perfect reason to only keep the really special things without feeling bad if stuff doesnt make the cut

We gave DD a big drawer n her room to put her artwork in,after a while I found she was recycling things off old pictures to add to new ones so all I had to do was go through the drawer every now and then, remove the paper with nothing much left and light the fire with it.
I have kept a few special things but not much. Some of her best creations were photoed and she'd get a mug with it printed on.
The problem things are the 3d models that get collected from school at the end of term!
