Two of my freezer drawers have frozen shut. Help me sort it out

I have a ton of stuff in there. Can't exactly remember what though!

How will I open them? I tried a hairdryer, but after twenty minutes got the arm ache and gave up.

If I defrost it the food will have to be used up stat.

I think someone left the drawers open....... but anyway.

Thanks if anyone has any ideas!

it's cold outside.
I would defrost a little, take the food out and store it outside until it's fully defrosted and cleaned.

Cool box/bag, with ice packs and food will stay frozen for up to 8 hours. Bowl of hot water in the shelf/drawer below to speed the process. Don't use a hairdryer.

Have you tried a steam cleaner?

Hi, and thanks all.

So you think the best thing is to defrost the whole freezer? It has four deep drawers, two of which are frozen shut.

So it is not the entire freezer that is frozen solid just the two top drawers.

Yes do it all, otherwise it will frost up unevenly again. Try not to force the stuck drawers, they aren't cheap to replace and are quite brittle when cold.

Thanks again.

I thought there might be a way of just dislodging the two frozen drawers, but it doesn't look likely now.

I do have a steam cleaner and will use that. Full defrost on the way! Horrible job too, but has to be done I suppose.

As others have said, the weather is freezing, and now that I think of it, my brother left a huge ice box thinngy in my garage recently. Might come in useful!

Thanks all, great to get other opinions.
