Dropped and broken our iron..hardly used it, mainly for a couple of work clothes.

Are cordless irons worth the money?
I'm tried of folding and moving a big ironing board too.

I am not a fan of ironing but some of the clothes need it..can you recommend a new iron?

Thanks

Cordless irons have come on leaps and bounds over the years.

I have a Tefal one (I will link below), it is good, but be prepared to have to put it on the base between ironing every section of the clothing (around every 30 seconds - but I find this ample and doesn't really slow down ironing).

In fact the Tefal cordless is so good, it missed being a Which best buy by a hairs breadth).

However, I feel the same about cordless irons and I do about cordless vacuums, I don't feel they're strong enough to be the only appliance to have access to. So I do have a corded iron too (but thats just me).

TEFAL

THIS is the highest scoring iron on Which reviews - costs around £40.

If you don't want to faff with an ironing board, you can get a like an ironing sheet that you just lay on a firm surface and you can iron on it.

Thank you, yes I see what you mean about having two of the same..convenience vs ease of use.

Not cordless, but we have this:-

You don't have to change the temperature. It's bloody brilliant.

Reasonably new in my world of ironing is paying someone else to do it Wink. I hate ironing - most things can be tumble dried and hung up or folded, but for those that need ironing I take them to the launderette where DH has his shirts done.

I have a steam generator one. It's brilliant. You don't need to change the heat setting and it has a thing where it doesn't scorch if it's left on clothes or the ironing board.
