Whats the minimum time you like to leave bleach down the toilet before alowing it to be flushed?

Just finished giving the bathroom its weekly deep clean. I finished by chucking bleach down the loo. Now its raining outside here so there is dh, ds and dd are in the house so i'm now guarding the loo so no one goes to flush it! I did ask them if they needed to go before i cleaned the bathroom so their fault if they need to go So what the minimum time you like to leave the bleach down before flushing?

I don't put bleach down the loo, there's no need if everyone cleans it/ flushes it when they've been.
Teach ds to clean it and tell dh you expect him to as well.
Then we have nice clean waterways without the need for harmful chemicals to go down there.

Once I've done a scrub with the bleach and the brush, about 1 minute!

Didn't think it made any difference leaving it longer....

Best not to use bleach- horrendous effects on the watercourses it ends up in.
And it doesn't remove limescale- harpic does+kills the germs+is safe enough for septic tanks, so kinder to the environment, (even if you don't have septic tank).

I know some people use it daily, but I think that's excessive at home (reasonable in a public toilet). We're probably weekly to fortnightly here, and I prefer to leave it overnight, but at a minimum maybe 20 minutes?

Far more annoying is when I've cleaned the sink and DH has a shave all over it. However well he thinks he's rinsed, he always leaves a million little stubbly bits all over the place.

I leave it overnight but don't use it often.

I'd leave it overnight after cleaning it.

I run bleach under the rim first when I'm doing the proper clean of the bathroom; clean the rest of the bathroom, then scrub the bleached toilet and flush it through and finish with Toilet Duck or Harpic which I leave on until someone needs to use it (no set time limit but I will get them to use one of the other toilets if I haven't cleaned them all yet).
