Hi all!

Welcome to a brand new month in which we (in a very casual way) follow the FlyLady method to try and banish CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome), and to declutter in order to remove an excess of STUFF (Something That Undermines Family Fun).

A daily BabyStep, plus missions, daily focuses and weekly zones break our time into manageable chunks - all helped by lots of supportive chat and a Naughty Corner stocked with goodies.

All welcome!

Thank you all Thanks and thank you Cotswold for links! :)

I have unsurprisingly had an unproductive day, we were out most of it anyway for their various clubs so all I've done is laundry and baths, and I managed a simple dinner and started a meal plan (or more accurately a healthy snack/lunch plan as we are spending shedloads on food on the go!)

I've also pretty much caught up on my blogging, which included a post on behalf of a company who offered me free tickets to an event! Woohoo!

Feeling slightly less freaked out today, just trying to see the positives that we could actually end up somewhere better. Been talking to friends about it, trying to find out cheaper areas and such.

Seriously need to get the house in gear but we have a friend visiting tomorrow, she's like my other mum as she has been so supportive and treats the kids like her grandchildren, really looking forward to spending the day with her so I refuse to let stress get in the way of that! :)

DH has done dishwasher and I've put the laundry on. Did 5 mins paper decluttering. Other than that, nothing.

So here is some Wine for the naughty corner. Can't do any more.

Hi all! Have been trying not to MN much, as obviously we have a huge amount to sort out

DH and I sorted loads of crap in the boudoir yesterday. I'm going to crack on with some laundry before I go (DD's friend has a birthday party) as we found loads of odd socks and stuff Blush Blush.

We are still Stash N Dashing but trying to do it in a more organised fashion Hmm :o by throwing away/putting away what we can easily manage first, then putting the stuff that still needs sorting into some Trofast buckets as at least they can be tucked away into the unit.

Can't get going today, a tickly cough kept me up most of the night, it was because the dust Blush.

Hope everyone has a good day. Thanks

Hi everyone, I'm here! Sorry I've been so quiet and thank you so much zoo it is sort of clearing although I still seem to have a lump in one breast and it's still quite sore...I just can't seem to shake it off so I think a trip to the GP may be in order, I don't want antibiotics as generally I feel much better but I would like someone to tell me if the lump is something to worry about. We've all got horrible colds as well so generally we are a grumpy household right now!

zoo sounds like you're doing a little better now? I hope that is the case as I know you were feeling very down last time we "spoke"

cag hope you're okay sorry about all your stresses

toostressy well done! Hope you're having a fun weekend!

Ta das
Decluttered medicine cabinet
loaded dishwasher
Tidied upstairs quickly
Decluttered ds clothes that don't fit him anymore (he is a chunk!)
Finished properly cleaning the bathroom at last (although now it looks like it needs doing again...always the way)

To do
Laundry including ironing
Hoovering
Dusting
Some more bottles to the bottle bank

Phew, that feels good to be getting back into it! Although not sure how long this motivation will last...I have M&Ms to eat while dd has her nap later so that'll be me on the sofa with a coffee for a while...

Have a restful weekend everybody!

foxessocks · 19/11/2016 13:11

PS sorry for everyone I missed out there but I've missed quite a lot of stuff going on!

Stilllivinginazoo · 19/11/2016 14:00

afresh we try not to use soy milk too much as were told use it constant may become allergicHmmso often default to nut(cashews £1 at mo and I'm quite partial to thatGrin)my forget is usually dairy free yogurt which can be hideously expensiveher favourite it koko from Morrison's or asda at 1.30 for 2.I pop waitrose last week abf they only had a fancy pants cooperative coconut one at nearly £2 a potConfused which she didn't get the chocolate almond milks rather nice too BTW
foxes glad you not feeling too grotty, just snotty.think colds finally reached chez zoo.dd2 has horrid tickly cough that's choking her and starting yo sneeze so bracing fir rest if us get that(sigh)
My veg is now ready trundles off to snaffle it in frenzied fashion as missed breakfast

Afreshstartplease · 19/11/2016 15:02

I was advised to use soya for as long as possible! As it has the best nutritional value!

Stilllivinginazoo · 19/11/2016 15:32

Damn health professionals all have different sodding ideals!!Hmm

Was dietetic told us that.her favourite riceilk and was only when I check online why not suitable as main drink in under 5s found out it naturally contains arsenic in low levelsShock

Afreshstartplease · 19/11/2016 15:36

Dietitian told me soya was best alternative lol Hmm Yet another aspect of parenting that has conflicting advice!

Stilllivinginazoo · 19/11/2016 17:47

Haha.least when have more one child (in my experience anyway)we just kinda run a mixture different advice and what works best fir us
All I do know she said that's fact is organic ain't got calcium added as its not possible grade added calcium as such?!

I've spent lovely afternoon help dd2and lil zoo make bracelets from a set they got last Xmas from my dear friend that died brain cancer in the summer.
Dd2 then ask get her knitting out.lil zoo wanted learn,so I've sat and taught her too and they both sitting knitting squares
Pity D's playing upstairs on Xbox mine crafting. Regret day we were given that damn thing!!

Newchick · 19/11/2016 20:18

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 19/11/2016 22:56

Thanks everyone!

Hi all, thanks for links Cotswold and belated thanks to Cag for doing the first half of the thread.

Feeling a bit annoyed with myself today as I just never seem to get everything done and always go to bed regretting the amount of time I spend faffing on here. I did get a few bits done today though and I guess was never going to get loads done today after my course anyway.

Ta das (completely unrelated to any zones or missions!):-
Tidied up some toys - threw away a few broken bits and organised others but didn't really get rid of any for charity Confused.
Emailed about DD2's bday party

So not much really although DH did clean downstairs and get s few bits of food in. Off to bed now.

Sweepingchange · 20/11/2016 13:03

Hi all! Posting from the naughty corner. Firmly ensconced in here today - roaring fire is on and burning nicely - warming veg soup is on the stove with a couple of plates of melba toast for everyone to share!.

House is in a truly 'orrible/pitiful state after recent but spectacular dive off the Flying wagon but other than church, quick supermarket dive, cooking, attending to pets, hwk supervision and doing 'survival' washing such as underwear, towels and school uniform + swim and gym kit - I am doing nowt else today except sit spark out in front of telly! Can't quite seem to relax though as feel very "rabbit in headlights" as humungous amount of things to organise all of a sudden and the thought of Christmas in 34 days is making me panic a bit!! [Sorry to bring that up on a Sunday afternoon everyone!] Hugely behind here with it all though!

Totally cream crackered after a "challenging" week to put it mildly. Just about survived four days of non-stop legal/banking meetings and it all feels very surreal that the things we have been working towards for five years in reality (and a good decade before that in the planning) have finally come to fruition. Minor but essential legal and financial errors or inconsistencies or omissions kept cropping up every day until the last document was signed. (Even 40 mins before the very last signing while we were speeding along the motorway to second notaire's office!) so the stress has been huge so can't quite believe it is all finished! Now just have to work like the clappers and make a success of it all! (No pressure!!) Bit scary but exciting!!

(Blue our meetings were all in three langs and I thought of you and wondered how you managed the total brain crushing fatigue of working consistently all day every day at a high, v intense detailed level in a different lingo. I've come away with huge renewed respect for translators and interpreters. I'm used to half an hour here and there of casual chit chat but this was too much for me and my feeble brain. Hats off to you! )

Yesterday was spent organising and driving dd back and forth to group project study in the morning and to a party in afternoon and evening which was just what she needed after a tough period of time but feel shattered today.

Haven't yet caught up with all of thread but just wanted to say:

Toostressy if I may say so, imho, you are being far too hard on yourself! You deserve a huge pat on the back for passing your work course!!! A mahoosive achievement, esp as you were fitting in all the study around hectic work and home schedule! Forget the stuff you haven't done and jump in where you are at today! Honestly, life is too short, there are always chores to be done - even the best most organised chorer in the world never completely ever "finishes" everything - that is the nature of the housework beast. Time much better spent pursuing qualifications than dusting imho!! Well done you!! Flowers

Glad you are feeling more positive Cag! Flowers

Thank you so much for links Cotswold which are much appreciated and will be sorely needed this coming week when I attempt to climb back on the Flying wagon! (Have a very steep climb - will need a winch I tell you!)

Foxes I hope you are feeling much better. I was worried last time you had mastitis that you hadn't got rid of it properly (being as you are so conscientious on all other fronts, sleep deprived, and lo not allowing you any time for yourself). Hope you can totally get rid of painful lump which sounds v debilitating.

Great to hear the system is helping Newchick!

Stillliving think Remembrance Sunday and Christmas and approach to Christmas is such a hard time of year when you have lost someone close to you Flowers

Afreshstart I have same prob with washing tablet things (especially light liquid filled "pillow" variety). It is a design fault I think as most wm drums nowadays are built to expell any foreign bodies such as forgotten hair clips etc to seal of door so as not to damage interior. I don't know what the solution is tbh. I wonder if putting a tablet in a sock or a pillow case would help? You sound v organised btw!

Weary but heartfelt wing flaps to Nicknacks Scuttlbutt Purpledaisies Shannara Toffee PA Feetheart Ellie Whoknows Greymalkin Dogsbum and Knitting Einstein¨and Honu if you happen to be lurking and anyone else I have missed!

Keep warm everyone! Wishing you all a cosy Sunday afternoon!
