Cilit Bang degreaser.

Leave it on for a good 20 mins & then wipe off. Wear rubber gloves - it degreases your hands as well!

Gileswithachainsaw · 25/10/2016 10:03

Brilliant thanks you I shall get some tonight

A steam cleaner works, as do the magic sponges.

Gileswithachainsaw · 25/10/2016 10:04

I did try the steam cleaner that didn't seem to work either.

What are magic sponges

magimedi · 26/10/2016 09:49

rivit?

rivet??

One of those words I've looked at too long to be sure of the spelling!

BellaGoth · 26/10/2016 09:50

I always use a damp cloth dipped in bicarbonate of soda. The bicarb acts as an abrasive. I find it very satisfying.

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 26/10/2016 09:50

Old fashioned Jif (Cif) cream cleaner

Gileswithachainsaw · 26/10/2016 09:51

Unfortunately there was no degreaser

Stupid supermarket...

I was all set and stupidly excited myself

What about Brillo pads

Mcchickenbb41 · 26/10/2016 09:54

Sorry just read you tried that

magimedi · 26/10/2016 09:59

Get thee to another emporium! Grin

You can see what a dull life I lead atm. Am a bit housebound so degreasing threads are a lifeline Grin

fluffiphlox · 26/10/2016 10:02

A solution of bio powder or liquid. I prefer liquid. Water tepid not hot.

Gileswithachainsaw · 26/10/2016 10:03

That I can try. I can dig out the liquid I just binned as I don't use.

I use white vinegar, you an buy it in a spray bottle in wilko. I remember reading here that some people use car wax on their tiles, I imagine that would work well as it certainly removes the grease and grime from my car.

HeyMacWey · 26/10/2016 10:10

Aldi's Orange kitchen spray gets through mucky kitchen grease.
Use with a green sponge scourer.

magimedi · 26/10/2016 18:55

Drums fingers on table....

Can't wait any longer.

OP - are you OK or are you sinking into a miasma of grease??

I second Cillit band grease and sparkle - it's in the green bottle. Works like a charm!

Gileswithachainsaw · 26/10/2016 19:02

I wasn't feeling too well today so no outing fir cilit bang. I do promise however to report back Grin

Gileswithachainsaw · 26/10/2016 19:08

Muddlingthroughtoo · 26/10/2016 19:18

Can you scrape it off first with a paint scraper? Or a mixture of vinegar, star drops and water should do it.

Gileswithachainsaw · 26/10/2016 19:22

It's not thick enough to scrape I don't think.

You can't even really see it it's just sticky....
