Desperately need new vacuum so going shopping this weekend!

Have a large house, one dog. All of downstairs is hard floor with exception of one carpeted room.

Upstairs all carpeted.

I was looking at the V6 fluffy or do I really need the Animal for pet hair?
Help!

How often do you Hoover your whole house in one go?

If you think you are likely to do the whole house then get the v8. If like me you generally do downstairs one day and upstairs another day then get the v6.

To be honest with a cordless dyson it's easier/more likely that you'll do parts of the house on different days rather than one big clean. When I used my corded sebo I would do the whole house......the arse of getting it out and plugging it in.....I would just keep Going ungil everywhere was done. But with the dyson it's so easy to to ten minutes here, ten minutes there that you may find you change your hoovering habits.

Pikachu - yes I tend to vacuum in spurts too! I guess if the V6 gives about 20 mins I should be fine.

I've heard the Dyson DC24 is a really good vacuum cleaner.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 10/10/2016 08:17

I have the animal. Suction is great and fantastic for pet beds and sofas and the stairs and car. I couldn't do the whole house with it but it's brilliant for inbetween hoovering.

How much was the v8 animal Jung if you don't mind me asking?

BummyMummy77 · 10/10/2016 12:59

I can't even find it for sale in the states. The v8 yes but not v8 animal. Have animal so clearly need one with 'animal' in title.

Jungfraujoch · 10/10/2016 20:39

Bummy - it was just under £375. Can't believe I've actually paid that much for a vacuum so it better be impressive!

The normal v8 is almost £600 here. SadAngry

Jungfraujoch · 11/10/2016 17:05

😍😍😍😍😍 Brilliant! I've done the stairs, lounge, den and kitchen/family room so far (sad I know!). Loads of dog hair off the stairs and lounge carpet which I normally struggle to see as carpet is quite light as is the dog! And best of all it glides over my deep pile rug which the upright could never do!

I know it's £££ but I'm a convert!!

Are you still getting on well with your V8 Animal OP? Only asking as seriously considering one too.

Jungfraujoch · 03/12/2016 23:36

Still loving it Breton! So easy to whizz around quickly in the morning for the dog hair. 😄

Bummy it's probably not recommended but you can charge a Uk one off a regular socket adaptor in the US without needing a transformer or anything more complicated. We brought our V6 over when we moved across.
