(have taken cushion covers off to wash...although we do have throws to cover them anyway)

do i scrub the arms? what with?
do i need a special vacum thingy?

I once borrowed a steam cleaner and did the arms of our old sofa quite successfully.

It was quite a basic cleaner from what I remember and you had to wrap a cloth over the end to make a "pad" which you rubbed over the fabric.

Sorry thats so vague its probably no use to you whatsoever ...ignore my ramblings!
