Things I have learnt from mumsnet or I LOVE my Roomba/robot hoover

It arrived last yesterday, and charged overnight and then spent a happy morning cleaning my kitchen and living room.
I watched it admiringly for ages and the DC went to complain to DH that all mummy wanted to do was play with her new hoover.
Thanks to whoever suggested it first, and the transformer advice.
It is yet another thing I learnt about from mumsnet and thanks to you all. My life is going to be revolutionised, well maybe just a little more organised

Can I just add.....where is the £50 Roomba???!!! This would have to be the best £50 ever spent...

snorkle - we've had ours since last summer, and it still works fine.

I think DH got it from Curry's in the Shirley Retail Park, near Solihull - he had taken DS for a trip out because that's the kind of place DS likes to visit [sigh].

Anyway, it had been in the sales reduced to £100. There were two left, reduced to £50, one was ex-display, the other had knackered packaging. We have the knackered packaging one. TBH, I didn't realise it was that much of a bargain, but then I didn't think it was actually going to work [doh]

snorkle - it does all our vacuuming except the stairs (obviously) - although we're perhaps not as fanatical about hoovering as some people (we used to live next door to someone who'd do the whole house in the morning, again after her kids had been home for lunch, and again after they were in bed - her life would have been so-o-o empty if someone had bought her a Roomba!). We do still have the ordinary one, but it doesn't get used an awful lot.

Here's my update,
the scooba cleaned my kitchen dining room ie sealed hard wood floor and tiles and it cleaned as well as i could with a hoover and then a mop.
Roomba cleaned DS's room ie carpets and I've never seen them look so clean
Looking after roomba and scooba , ie maintenance after each use does seem essential as I can see they seem to require loving care rather than your bog standard hoover. It's not that big a chore to be honest.
I am very pleased with my purchases, and even if they only last 3 months ( I sincerely hope not) they are still as good value as a cleaner.
Once they are past the 3 month stage then they become better and better value.
