We need new bed linen. I love the look of plain white but worried it will discolour really quickly. So straw poll - White bed linen - yes or no.

I only have white sheets. Duvet covers have colours or patterns because I am very adept at spilling tea. I like IKEA ones because they're cheap, proper cotton, and wash well. They don't last forever because DH has psoriasis so covers himself in greasy ointment every night, but I get a good few years out of them before they're grey.

Yes! Because it's so easy to match white bed linen with practically anything. The only downside is that it obviously stains easily, but use some Vanish and it will work its magic.

If you're going to get some, make sure it's of decent quality. I got mine from a place called Hilden as they sell to hotels and I saw the label on some particularly nice bed linen in a hotel once. Here's their bed linen www.hilden.co.uk/bed-linen

Yes Northern and also if you have several different sets, all white, then it doesn't matter which pillowcases end up with which duvet cover. They all "match" - well enough anyway.
