Help me fall in love with my house again - what makes a house seem together and finished?

I have the bare bones of a lovely house but we have too much stuff (young DC, so really hard to declutter because toys/clothes are being kept for younger dc)
Money is quite tight
Too many unfinished DIY jobs
I wfh and am getting desperate about it

I agree with not buying more storage solutions and down sizing the toys too. I'm doing a major sort out in my house too.

1. Declutter
2. Clean
3. Order

I've made a real effort to keep the hall tidy so the house feels welcoming when I come back in. I tidy the bathroom, make the bed and tidy the kitchen every day too. When everything has a place, it literally takes moments. Good luck, it will be worth it.

I second the Kondo advice on here, but in the short term can you also get one small bit exactly how you want it to be? Maybe a hall table or a windowsill with one thing on it that you really like? I always find that encourages me, even if the rest of it is still a bit of a pigsty.
