I can't find the thread, but I would really like to know what you used (i.e. trap/food etc) to catch the little blighter(s). TIA

We caught a second one last night using the Rentokil traps and some Snicker chocolate. I'm hoping that we are approaching the end of our unwelcome visitors. Am I being a little optomistic?

In total we have now caught 4 mice. The last two nights, it would seem, there has been no traces of a visit from them. How do you know if/when they have all gone or moved on? I'm reluctant to start sealing up gaps/holes etc just incase we trap one in, it dies and come the summer we get an infestation of bluebottles/flies. What is the next course of action to take please? TIA

I caught 14 mice in my kitchen with a humane trap before I gave in and poisoned them. There is a limit to my kindness to meeses.

My sister also has had problems with mice, she might see this thread later and pos on it
(btw, her mn is kid!)

Kbear - I'm afraid (much to dh's horror) to go down the non-humane route. I just want to know what is the indicator that says 'We've Gone'!!

we had mice for about 2 weeks before we gave in and got a man in who put down poison. Felt horrid but it had to be done. The sign that they have gone is no more mice droppings ANYWHERE so you have to be rigorous about clenaing up veery day once you think they've started to eat the poison (you have to leave it a few days so as not to disturb them). He came three times and charged us £50 - worth every penny...

I too needed to know when the little blighters had gone so I set up the video camera on the floor in the kitchen and set it to night vision! Filmed for about 8 hours for 2-3 nights then got the kids to watch the tape on fast forward and to yell if they saw a mouse coming out from under the washing machine!

I am expecting an Oscar for directing that particular movie!

Mice love tuna and peanut butter - if you put that in traps you catch them every time.

I started using this method (recommended by a friend) and caught 5 in 3 days and then no more mice dared venture in!
