Took the plunge and ordered a Miele washing machine but can I ask?

So after thinking too long about it I have ordered a Miele! Anyone who already owns a Miele could you advise me? I was looking at the manual online and noticed the machine has factory settings applied but these can be changed by pressing various buttons.
Such as Water plus you can add a higher level of water to the wash or a extra rinse or both. On the Cotton and minimum iron wash you can add a gentler wash. Suds cooling to protect pipes and changing the time of soak. Does anyone use these extra functions, not sure what I should adjust if anything? Thanks

I don't have a Miele machine, but there are lots of different options on our Beko and I've found what works for me through trial and error.

Yes, I've changed the settings on mine. I've added the cool down on the hot washes and I have water plus set up to do an extra rinse.

Thanks rabbit, have you tried the gentler wash on the cottons? Thought maybe this would add less friction to your clothes in the wash but maybe not?

Which Miele have you ordered?

I have a Miele, its about 10 months old.

Water plus is were it adds extra water when washing and an extra rinse. Its both, not one or the other.

I havent used the functions you are asking about but i would of thought a gentle wash wouldnt throughly wash the clothes like they are needed. I suppose it will depends on how dirty your clothes are etc.

SpendSpendSpend, check the manual. You can change what Water Plus does.

I've not used the gentler wash action. For anything that needs it, I use minimum iron. Does that same thing.

I ordered the model WDA110 what model have you got Spend? The manual does say you can do either but need to programme it in as the machine comes with standard factory settings. Not sure how to do this until I get the machine but it says something about selecting a 60 cotton wash and wait for a letter P to show up and then you can choose option 1,2 or 3.

This is the one i have.

I think yours may work different to mine Spend as mine is just a basic model.

I have a different model. I use the suds cooking to prevent damage to the machine when I do a 90degree wash. The machine seemed quite daunting at first but it is quite intuitive to use.

Hopefully it wont take too long to get my head around it.

Yeah, I've sorted the options on my Miele as well, so I've added on a cool down to the hot wash, an extra rinse to water plus, as well as the buzzer, because often I'd forget that I'd put a wash on

Tostartagain · 19/09/2015 12:06

I didn't know you could add the buzzer, will have a look at that. The machine is coming tomorrow.
