...how would you remove it?

Vanish?
That's my go to for stuff like that.
Has the sofa been scotch guarded? You may want to consider that Grin

JimmyGreavesMoustache · 28/08/2015 13:37

yes, will scotchguard I think! I've just covered the stain in cornflour to soak up the grease while I thought about how to tackle it. We've a bar of varnish somewhere so will start with that.

Good luck!

I think a spray of vanish would be better than a bar?? Just thinking the bar might smear it in. What colour and what fabric? (And what colour lipstick???)

Personally I would ring mil and ask her if she would like to choose the professional cleaner herself, seeing as she'll be paying for it, or is she happy for you to choose one for her.

daisydalrymple · 28/08/2015 14:11

Slightly more helpfully, have just googled and one link says saturate with hairspray for ten mins before sponging off. Then machine wash. (If covers are non removable where the lipstick is, I guess lots of soapy water instead here?)

Vintagebeads · 28/08/2015 14:14

I would try washing up liquid neat and very hot water..but if its red and smeared everywhere I probably would get it done profesionaly.

Stain Devils do one for lipstick.....

wowfudge · 28/08/2015 17:29

Please don't use hot water on marks - a scrape off what you can if thick enough then treat. Hot water sets stains and may make it impossible to get the colour out even though the waxes are cleaned off.
