Those steam cleaners that do 105 different jobs....worth it?

Got sucked into the shopping channel whilst stranded on the sofa with a poorly baby.
I was totally won over by one of these
We have lots of wooden floors but I liked the idea of steaming the mouldy discoloured bathroom tiles.
Anyone have one?

We've used ours a total of once! Spent £100 on it so wish I hadn't bothered now

Well I like mine. It's a 9 in 1 not 150!
Mainly used to mop floors, get the really bad crud off the hob and clean grout. It's really good for all that.
Don't bother with all the other attachments.

Nope. Crap. Wish We could just bin ours-I don't think it's hot enough.

You can have mine. I never use it. Simpler to just get out a normal mop.

Oh and don't pay £100 for it. You shouldn't need to pay too much.

Ok, thanks. I have a normal steam mop which is good, but it's triangular and doesn't go in to any of the corners...

I've got the exact same OP. It's good on floors but not impressed with the handheld attachments. If I was buying one now, I'd get a basic model - much cheaper and probably fine for floors.

I have a friend who has the MOrphy Richards upright steam mop, and she thinks it's brilliant, but I think I've got that Shark one, Romcom! I don't use the other attachments on a day to day basis, but I do use it for occasional blitzes (e.g. end of tenancy), and it's very light for floor mopping which means I use it more than the ones I've had before, which had separate tanks (and which were a PITA). Steam mopping is particularly good for being dry straight away, and not smelling of cleaning fluid.

Just make sure it's an upright, with the tank on the "stick", otherwise it will be heavy and twist your back!

I've got that one and I think it's great. I only paid £59 for it in the boxing day sales last year though so it might be worth shopping around.

I bought the Morphy Richards one - totally useless and a waste of money. Luckily I sent it back to Amazon and they gave me a refund.

I've had mine a couple of years and still use it several times a week to steam mop the kitchen and bathroom floors which are ruled and the lounge and dining room floors which are laminate.
It's quick and easy and dries in seconds. Wouldn't go back to a mop and bucket now.
I don't use the attachments much but do clean the shower cubicle, around the toilet and seat and the barbecue every now and then.

Ruled = tiled!

I found the steam mop really didn't clean the floor that well. Unfortunately, there is no substitute I've yet found for getting down on your hands and knees and scrubbing.

However, the handheld attachment is very useful for cleaning the oven and awkward corners of the kitchen, where you can't get in easily with a cloth. I just squirt some steam in the oven and wipe it over once a month and I don't have the awful, long job of using Ovenmate or some other cleaner that feels like it's trying to kill everything it touches, including me.
