Had a huge clean and the house looks fab but I'm very aware that it will easily become a mess quite quickly.

I need a daily routine!

After DC in bed I:

Tidy toys
Sort washing
Do dishes
Wipe down kitchen worktops
Do any wee niggling things
Do bin and recycling
Put stuff away in general

Hmm that's about it. Dust during the day, DS helps. Sweep a couple of times a week. Hoover rarely. Do bathrooms once a week and I also have a cleaner twice a month who dusts/sweeps/hoovers/cleans bathrooms.

Place looks fine most of the time. I do windows etc when I get the notion.

We tend to do things as we go. Ie kids have to tidy toys ( and we help), before lunch and before dinner ( they don't play after dinner just baths/ stories etc). It means every few hours the toys they aren't playing with get put away. If they are playing with say train track but had other toys out also before lunch, they can keep train set up, but tidy all the other odd bits.
Clean bathroom when they have a bath

We also bought a roomba. Expensive but means it gets scheduled to turn on each day when we are out at work and goes around itself hoovering any crumbs

Few things I do- have a hoover upstairs and downstairs (tiny long nozzled ones)

I tackle on job a day so yesterday I washed the inside and outside of the patio door, today I will clean the oven door, remove highchair straps and wash. etc

I have two under eighteen months so I fill the machine with darks, have a metal laundry tin for whites. iron twice a week. I am guilty of tumble drying 90 percent of stuff to reduce clutter around the house.

when dc are in bed I clean for half an hour.

I batch cook so I don't have relentless pile of washing up and peeling. I just bung on some fresh broccoli and pasta.

I am on maternity leave but when I go back to work I am going to write a list per day (Martha stewart has one- google cleaning rota) so Mondays check for cobwebs and polish mirrors, tues fridge wednes, hoover thoroughly downstairs etc..

also I always have a two bags in a spare wardrobe upstairs - one for bin and one for charity and try and fill these.

I keep on top of paperwork. I have a label maker and print off mortgage account no. shred the rest type of thing and have only one small a4 plastic folder for everything
