d) Tidy toys

a) less than 1 - usually hoover upstairs/dining room once a week, living room 1-2x a week, sweep wooden floors (hall, kitchen, toilet, utility) 1-2x a week

b) 1x for dishwasher (sometimes have to wash up what won't go in but 1x max)

c) 1x (2 at most)

d) if I am working 1x, otherwise anything from 1x to 6x or more. Depends on the kids and what they are doing that day.

Bozza · 01/11/2006 11:29

JARM - how do you manage to make a full white wash everyday? I only wash whites once a week and then it is not full.

lazycow · 01/11/2006 12:38

Hoovering - 2-3 times a week (was every day when I was at home every day)

Wash up - I don't have a dishwasher so 2 times a day when working (after breakfast, after dinner) and about 4-5 times when not working (I do a LOT of cooking on my days off)

Wash clothes - 4-5 loads a week (varies when I do them)

Tidy toys - on work days they just stay out - come to think of it they stay out on home days too . I probably tidy them away 1-2 times a week. I just live with the mess and vacuum round them - make a note to tacke this soon.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 01/11/2006 12:43

my "whites" load consists of...

cot blanket
2 x cot sheet
3 x pj's
2-6 t-shirts
numerous bibs
2 tea towels
2 dish cloths
2 hand towels

most of it is "lights" rather than "whites" but Becky has milk in her cot every morning and makes such a mess that her cot needs changed most mornings

a. once but if dc are very messy will do it again
b. once unload and load
c. approx twice a day
d. about 3 times in living room and once in each bedroom.

sunnysideup · 01/11/2006 12:50

Hoover - about 3 times a week (only have carpet upstairs) sweep wooden floors most days
Wash up - 3 times a day after each meal
Wash clothes - at least one load a day
Tidy toys - once a day before bedtime or more if DS has tipped out every toy he owns

Kittypickle · 01/11/2006 13:01

Hoover - not sure exactly, I chuck my little electric rechargable sweeper round when it needs it then a good hoover every so often when I think it needs it.

Dishwasher - once a day

Wash clothes - averages out around 1-2 loads a day but gets down in batches as when there are full loads.

Tidy toys away - we're lucky enough to have a play room so try to keep the majority of toys contained in there though DS's train tracks come of it, across into the kitchen, so has to be tidied up regularly or someone will break a leg.

PeachyBobbingParty · 01/11/2006 13:56

Hoover- twice a week

Wash up- after every meal, don't have dishwasher

Wash clothes- twice a day. And it ALL has to be tumble dried as covenant on lease states no washing line.

Tidy toys- endlessly but looks like never

peegeeweegee · 01/11/2006 20:29

Well, since I have started Flylady,

Hoover - every other day
Wash up - twice a day at least
Wash clothes - daily
Tidy toys - daily, but dc aged 7 and 3 and pretty much do most of this themselves...

Bozza · 01/11/2006 21:10

Do you know I am beginning to think my washing machine is huge. And my children are clean. I examined 2yo DD's skirt with a torch today and it appeared to be clean (despite a day at nursery which included splatter painting ) so I hung it back in the wardrobe.

Clary · 02/11/2006 00:59

bozza lol at examinign DD's skirt with a torch

threebob · 02/11/2006 05:38

a) Never, but cleaner does whole house once a week.

b) Never - that's what dh is for

c) Around 5 times a week

d) Once every 6 months I put old things in the loft in preparation for birthday/Christmas - the rest of the time it's ds's problem.

Bozza · 02/11/2006 08:50

clary that is what comes of using those low energy bulbs (really don't think they are as good) inside a gaudy kid's lampshade. DH had the torch out already to examine a rash on the inside of DS's leg so I just borrowed it. You don't think that a trip to the popticians might be in order do you?

Bozza · 02/11/2006 08:51

Erm that would be opticians.

Clary · 02/11/2006 09:33

lol bozza no I think that's fine.
Just had this image of you trawling through the wardrobe like a female james Bond looking for telltale paint splatters

Bozza · 02/11/2006 11:06

Actually clary if it hadn't been for all these threads about washing I would have just blithely thrown it on the pile with the other stuff. But I stopped and thought is this really necessary?

magnolia1 · 02/11/2006 11:31

a) Hoover - 2-3 times a week and thats with 4 kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats!!! We have one of those discusting old fashioned patterned carpets and it never shows up bits. I want wood floor but can imagine I will be able to see more dirt and bits And the dogs act like hoovers too

b) Wash up/put dishwasher on - Twice a day 9no dishwasher so by hand or eldest dd does it!)

c) Wash clothes - 2 loads per day about 5 days out of 7

d) Tidy toys - The kids do their own toys!!

doormat · 02/11/2006 11:36

a) hoover at least twice a day

b) 3-4 times a day

c) 3-4 loads per day

d) ongoing

double the above if they are off school

PeachyBobbingParty · 02/11/2006 12:44

(Magnolia, we switched to a wood lamionate floor from one of those carpets and it was fine, coz you can just sweep it up in seconds with a brush if needs be)

threebob · 03/11/2006 02:47

Spoke too soon, cleaner has given notice so I will be hoovering from now on. Once a week in high use areas and once a fortnight in the rooms we don't use much.
