Didn't notice till I took it off last night that someone had splashed red wine down the back of one of my favourite cotton jumpers. I'd had it on all evening and spent a couple of hours snuggled up on the sofa, baking it in nicely

Tell me it isn't ruined forever. It's pale green and cream stripes, it's quite noticeable. I've heard of soaking it in white wine, or vodka?

My dd knocked a glass of wine over a couple of blankets at xmas. Cold water, vanish and then a cold wash got it out. I've got blood out of vair expensive White cotton pillow cases with a salt rub, cold water, fairy liquid, another cold rinse, rubbing the fabric together each time and then a cold wash in the machine. I reckons your chances are quite good :)

A family member got red wine on a pale carpet. They put white wine on it, and it completely went. So having seen that, I'd definitely give white wine a go if it were me, though have no idea why it should/does work.

Right, I'll try that. Thanks.

I nearly forgot I'd started the thread. Blush

Wine away is brilliant, it has rescued carpets here.

Tonic water on fresh red wine stains is good too.

Will try anything.
