DS is 16 months old up until last week he used to go back to sleep at 10am and sleep till anywhere between 12 and 2pm, it was fab. All of a sudden since last week, he won;t go to sleep at all till after lunch and will then only have at the most an hour.

Apronscreams · 19/10/2006 12:19

just up - about to do breakfast for my lot...sorry to read its not a great day so far.

Washing machine is broken - needs a new pump which has to be ordered - if it doesn't get fixed soon the washing mountain will start to take over.

Re the mission - I threw out make up stuff on monday with the shampoos. dh has the day off - we are tryng to 'finish' our basement - so I will be plastering the new bathroom walls today, and he will be putting on skirting boards.

jasnDISMemBERED · 19/10/2006 12:30

Oh dear, the day seems to be going downhill for everyone.

I've done my whole list, bar putting the clean washig away, and am now feeding ds (typing l handed)and eating stilton and walnut biscuite for lunch.

Can I join in on the bad day list too? DD2 was up at 5am this morning coughing and full of a cold. Fortunately DH took her downstairs to entertain her whilst I had a bit more sleep. She's now fast asleep in her cot coughing away though. Needless to say not much FLYing has taken place this morning. I gutted the bathroom yesterday though so all is not lost. Not doing the mission today as I've only recently tidied out my make-up etc

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 19/10/2006 12:58

Well I have totally given up - sleep lasted 20 mins before Jess woke her up

I have given them lunch which has been thrown about the living room rather than eaten.

Its times like this i WISH so hard i had someone close to take them off my hands..... and that sounds awful but im really on the verge of tears now.

QueenQuootieSpookypieBee · 19/10/2006 12:59

oh, JARM! ((hugs)) Have you anyone at all nearby to babysit for you?

shazdisembodiedronnie · 19/10/2006 13:08

JARM - sending you a hug! When you feel rough the kids never seem to act sympathetically!!

I'm having a bad day particularly, just can't seem to get any enthusiasm! - I went out all morning to avoid housework....

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 19/10/2006 13:12

HI all. ((((( hugs ))))) to those who feel unwell and rundown. I am 1 of the ones that feel rundown
I have only done the had to do`s today so far. I dont have to worry about today mission as I dont really have any.
The lounge is smelling loads better today. I have put loads od pots of B/S everywhere in the house. Thanks for the tip again Ruby Glad to see you are feeling better too
The rubbish men came at 6am today they dont normaly come round until lunch time, so I (and many others) have missed the rubbish, I normaly put the wheelie bin out at night but do it the next morning. Now I am going to have smelly rubbish for another 2 weeks
Q..... your printer problem could be that something has got into your paper fed? My sister had the same sort of problem with the paper not feding into the printer and going wonky instead. They found a small peice of LEGO had got into the paper fed and was stoping one side of the paper going in but the other side was. that why it was going wonky. The printer was saying that it had a paper jam. As this peice of LEGO was so small they could not see it and got a new printer. A friend of theirs took it away and found it. Its working ok now. I know that for sure as I now have the printer. Well they did not need 2 did they

I better get some lunch and get ready to go and get DSs from school. I am going to be getting them now in the afternoons. I miss not getting them. Though the school are very good and want to see if they can catch the bus home if the weather is really bad and wet. They are looking into it for all DC that walk to and from school. I think its something to do with some DC picking on the DC that have to walk and then get wet. My DC treacher said that some are making the walkers feel 2nd best as they have to walk and then get wet. I suppose that DC will be DC with what they think and can do without knowing that they can upset others.

I am going to be doing 1 good thing later with the DC and that is making some more of tortoise`s cookies

QueenQuootieSpookypieBee · 19/10/2006 13:14

cookies? What cookies?

Whats B/S?

Ill try that with printer, thanks... Ive already ripped about 10 expensive peices of photo paper

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 19/10/2006 13:20

JARM big {((((HUGS))))) to you. I know that feeling oh to well.

When I feel like that, I just sit back and let the DC do as they wish. (within reason of course) Then they soon see that they cant wind me up! I end up having a few tears and then my DSs come and give me cuddles.

I think it good for DC to see us cry and feel unhappy sometimes. Then they know when they fell unhappy and sad, they can cry to and say how they feel. My DS2 does it, has a cry and says that his day has not been good and that he really needs a cuddle. then we all end up having cuddles. (although we have cuddles everyday before bed time)

Hope you feel better soon

I think its one of those days for us all as we all semm a bit down hill today!

TortUREoiseChamber · 19/10/2006 13:22

Hi all
Sorry to see so many feeling ill.
(((Hugs))) for JARM. If you all lay in bed will they go to sleep?
Im feeling good today. DD1 had photos at pre-school today so got them both done together. Then me and DD2 went to town to send parcels and get bread etc.
Came home then rushed up to get DD1 from pre-school.
Brill letter from my sol.He has done my statement for court and its worded perfectly! He also phoned to say the CAFFCASS/childrens guardian woman has not made up her mind on who she thinks should have residency of the DS's.Which is not the impression i got when she came to see me. So fingers crossed she will decide to go my way!
Now need to get on with clearing and putting up decs!
Hope all feeling better soon.
Glad you feel better Ruby.

QueenQuootieSpookypieBee · 19/10/2006 13:22

Q here is the recipe for huge cookies if you missed it. Ant new FLYbabies might like to try it too!
They really are scrummy!
6oz(170g) Butter
3oz(85g)light brown sugar
3oz(85g)Caster sugar
1 large egg
Few drops vanilla extract
8oz(225g)self raising flour
4oz(100g) choc chips
100g melted choc for decoration.

Pre-heat oven to gas mark 4/180C
In a bowl cream together the butter and sugars, add the egg and combine well.
Stir in the flour, vanilla extract and choc chips and mix well.
Line two baking trays with baking parchment.
Divide the mixture into 10 using dessert spoons and slightly flatten out leaving space for them to spread.
Bake for 10-12 mins.
Allow to cool before putting on a wire rack to cool completely.
Using a dessert spoon drizzle the melted choc over them.

These are quite large cookies and very yummy!I have used all caster sugar if you have no brown.

QueenQuootieSpookypieBee · 19/10/2006 13:27

Glad all seems to be going the right direction Tort!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 19/10/2006 13:27

Thanks for the hugs girls.

Im going to put the travel cot up in the spare room - if i can get it to fit, and put one in there and one in the cot in the room they share.

they WILL go to sleep - neither of them slept well last night and with zero sleep today, they are gonig to be even more of a handful come 5pm

I honestly dont know whats wrong with me..... as soon as i feel really crap, my whole "mummy" persona goes out the window. I know hate myself for being so mean to them.

On the plus side.... have managed to hoover! Its made me absolutely knackered doing it but i did it!

QueenQuootieSpookypieBee · 19/10/2006 13:29

Well done JARM - DS is being a good boy just shuffling around the floor and im still being lazy

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 19/10/2006 13:30
