I am officially a grade A twat!
When de-scaling my iron at the weekend for some stupid reason I thought it was a good idea to put the iron (on a low heat) on top of a folded tea towel and merrily used the steam button to clear the reservoir. Did this for about half an hour because the iron didn't seem very hot and like it would do any damage.
Except it did.
I put cold cloths on it as soon as I realised what I'd done and thought I'd got away with it as all the time the worktop was wet the mark disappeared.
Anyway I now have a lovely white iron shape on the kitchen worktop (which incidentally I do not own - house comes with DH's job - would feel marginally less of a knob if it was my own property!) and am desperately hoping someone knows a trick to rescue it?!
The worktop is a dark grey/light grey/white plasticy type surface and a couple of mm thick.
unfortunately it's not even in a place I can hide it!
Many thanks in advance!
