Ok I have just recived this boquet from my man only prob is they are gift wrapped in cellophane with no vase but water at the bottom. Question is are these the flowers that are ment to be put in a vase or left in the water and wrapping?? I'm scared of destroying them. If they are supposed to be kept in how do I use the food provided?

TIA

no - vase is needed - the water in the bottom of the wrapping is just to keep them fresh during transportation.

When i get flowers like that i just snip awaythe wrapping, lift arrangement into vase of water and add the food - mine usually last 7-10 days.

Put food into vase and add water. I generally cut a small hole in cellophane to drain water then remove the buch of flowers and place whole into vase (cutting of the string first). That way you have them ready arranged in the vase.

leave them tied up but remove the wrapping

Hi just been doing the same myself although can't say any one sent them me. I always cut the stems at an angle like this /. Remove wrapping and strip off any leaves below the water line or they rot and poison the water and thus the flowers don't last as long. You can buy wet oasis if you want to do a display for a special occasion like christmas say and cover it working from the bottom up in a circular spiral upwards. Or even easier just shove it in the bottom of the vase so it holds the flowers in place easier than tying them. Sometimes if i have no flower food i add a little sugar to the water or my Mum used to swear by flat lemonade!
I always have fresh flowers in the house love the way they brighten the room up and smell so nice. Also remind me of my Mum who passed away a few years ago and taught me all this stuff she loved flowers too. As for plants though I'm useless they always die on me no matter what i do yet my flowers always last ages.
